I like the guys final comment, we are trying to tie the hands of special interest groups that want to make policy on emotion instead of science. One senator from Nebraska wanted to get a bill like this on the ballot. The legislature thought it was to vague. The problem, just like everything else is, trying to get everyone to agree. One person will think a feedlot or hog unit is ok, the other will think its not.
I don't have a problem with coming up with some kind of legislation, since the opposition tries to do the same. Personally we need to educate the consumer as to where their food comes from, why we do the things that we do, and what would happen if we don't. HSUS definatally has vocal supporters that are involved in production agriculture. Even lobbyist groups that are ag focused work with them, at least in Nebraska. Kinda makes me disgusted.
