I never roped in a arena much but I did a little and was fair and got a few buckles. I was cripled. Bein left handed and could only heal. But tie down a little. Bull ridein was my deal but I was to tall to go real fare with it. I had a lot of uper body strength. From workin hard around a scueeze. I armed rassled a bunch and was only beat a few times. I think that helped me the most with bull ridein. I'm not bragin. I don't brag on my self. Except with how perty I am. Yall don't know how old its got to everytime, every where I go, women undress me with there eyes. I tryed growin a belly to try and deter them but to nothin but a sore belly that buckle cuts my gut. I've done lost down to 225 so I'm in trouble again. Even with this scared up face and slightly bent nose over a 1000.00 arm rastlein match. I still get no slack cut. Well, I said all that to say this. I'm sure proud of my boy and his ropein at practice today I don't know. We got rain late but he only mised about 2 out of 18 and turned most of them real good. He's had a few ropers offer to help him if they would rope with them. I'm all for it , I'm just glad he off the bullridein kick. What does a good started ropein horse cost?what he would really wonts is a green, justed started filly that's showin a lot of potental. I know your talkin about prices from chevys to cadilacs with blood lines and breedin. Any answers would be very thankful.

If he wants to rope much, he needs 2 horses. One can't take
all the practice he'll want to do plus enter the jackpots as well.
Kids need to learn to appreciate and take care of their rope horses.
I've been involved with team roping for years and I see kids
that only have one horse and they need 2 or 3, because they want
to practice...and the horse doesn't need it, but the kids do.

So whatever you plan on spending, I'd say DOUBLE IT.

P.S. I really laughed at your story. :P

We got several that we could use to practice on. Just ranch horses. His paint is a sure nuff bred up ropen horse. And he's roped off him but he turns left while he's throwin his rope. Then it takes him a while to get him strate in the woods workin cattle. He don't won't to ruin him for a cowhorse. Do u think some body could get it out of him? He could be the trainin horse and cowhorse. These crackers are a little small to head off of except for the stud. My cusin trains cuttin horse and lots of time they don't make it. But they make good ropein and barrel horses. Just need trainin. I can get one cheep to.

as far as the horse going left, i think a guy could get that out of him. i'd just track alot of cattle off him. throw your rope, keep your left foot in him and just track down the arena. if he wants to go left, hammer him with your left foot and keep him in there.

i agree with FH, if you can get more than one horse, that's what i would do. you just want to practice on one that is similar to the one you compete on. you can spend alot less time in the practice pen if you practice correctly. better for the roper and the horse.
good luck.

Better hope you don't get some lady doctor or nurse you've slighted in the past. you might come home a little less well equipped.

Get well soon. Please :P

What r they goin to do for u haymaker? Casterate you? U ort to get pasted out drunk and let your buddys do it. aint there a old doc in yall crew? I was better but had a relasp. I went to the doc monday and had to be wheelchared in. They hooked me up to a iv and give me some steroids and salene salution. I go every day this week and set there with a bunch of poor sick old folks and try to keep the nurses off me for 4 hours. I got 2 tumors just under my skin. One on my but cheek that the leather on my truck seat tears a scab off of if I don't get out just right and it bleeds. the belly one don't bleed. It just sets there like a nipple on a woman that a youngin has just sucked for a hour. I start radiation tomory. I feal better but I'm just tired at the end of the day and sleep late. I help a buddy with my little bobcat muck out his stalls this afternoon. We almost got one, they were that deep. I got give out and had to stop. He has the arena and runs it ever other day and trains ropein horses.he's from montana and sure knows his stuff. Heck of a nice man to. Always there to help a youngin. In my book somebody like that is made of good stuff. I've found 3 horses. A 7 year old guildin that heals beter than heads. A 4 year old mare that's cheeper but just started and doin well. And a won't to be cowboy buddy of mine that has a 4 year old guildin that is big, super bred and got 2 month's ropein trainin on him. He throwed my buddy, just like the last one so he's got to go. Best of all is I can trade some old grouth heartpine lumber for him. I can get ted to put a month or 2 on him and have a maybe good horse. As for a practice horse. Ted said treys paint would do but he's a little small even though he's thick. I seen trey rope some big comercial cattle as well as a few bulls ted say he's got a lot of heart and he could streatin him out from wontin to turn to soon just like u said doin it justin. Trey's just got his hands full with the rope throwin, gettn his dally and turnin. This horse he's got borrowed is a good trainin horse but he's got to where he's runs with the stear a little long helpin the young rider get his loop. Then he don't snatch the stear turnin him, kind of sorryin off a little. But a good trainin horse anyway. Thank yall for the help. I really mean it. With this radiated brain, I sure have lost some and try my hardest to make good decisions. Anymore direction would be aprecated.
