Roundup Ready Alfalfa

I read that the U.S. has given approval for the unrestricted use of GMO alfalfa, with no restrictions. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here yet.

With all the fun we had this summer with contaminated fields full of RR Canola, IMHO, this can only be a bad thing. :!:
 
I kind thought Alfalfa was pretty much Round Up Ready. :?

Isn't that where they got the gene?


We have sprayed Crested Wheat/ Alfalfa mixed stands to remove the grass.Didn't work all that great but I think it was conditions and maybe not enough Round Up.

Straight round up doesnt work the greatest alone on killing alfalfa,when i am killing alfalfa i use the roundup to kill the grass in it and 2-4d to kill the alfalfa

Nope. The roundup resistance gene comes from a bacteria of the Agrobacterium species. Interesting story.
