Ty got rained out today so came home-he jumped a big bull moose and cow yesterday-a solid 50 incher. He called him back within 40 yards-I shot my first moose about this time of year 30 years ago in the same rainy crappy weather. I was about froze up under a big spruce wrapped up in a tarp when it came by and got the heart going lol.

Sounds like your hunting "rut" is on... :P

But I know how you feel- Today I was out walking around a paddock area checking for holes in the fence getting ready for weaning- when I jumped up a little 4 point whitetail... By the time I got thru walking around the fenceline, my feet were bigger than snowshoes with the gumbo mud on them- so I called quits to fencing and went in and cleaned the old 250 Savage and the 22-250 and got them all oiled up...

Tomorrow if the wind isn't howling- I'll put up a target and make sure they are still zeroed in ....

The elk are rutting hard here right now. I've got a draw tag in my pocket and could be out hunting but momma's been away for a few days and I've been babysit.......er.. parenting. About killing me.

Ty said he called a big 50 plus inch bull within 15 yards of him yesterday in the pasture-I guess his horse wasn`t real impressed. Not real smart thing to do but fun!!
