Ruts on, the neighbor called last night and wanted me to go check out all of the bugling around her place, wanted to make sure that it was all elk and not the two legged coyotes always sneeking in. Well it was all real elk, in every direction. couldn't get close enough for pictures, better camo up and try for some today.

MY pump never loses prime-man that must be awesome to be able to hunt them in open country like that-our elk hunting is in alder jungle most times. Sweet looking bull.

The only Elk around here are at velvet farms and antler farms... The Elk left this part of the country a long, long time ago... That being said they say the first wild born Elk was killed in Southern Illinois last year since they were exterminated X amount of years ago.. The feeling is that some domestic ones were released and this was an offspring.. Guess their are some reports coming out of Shawnee National Forest of some reallly, really big white Tail deer.....

Buddy of mine saw a 9X8 bull elk couple nights ago, but by the time our other friend who has the tag got there, he was gone down into the river canyons again. It was getting dark so they went back the next day and couldn't find him anywhere. They said he was quite a thumper though. Apparently grain rations are good for horn growth. :lol:

i shouldn't be posting on here....someone's bound to give me crap, at least hopefully i'll get a cow this year, wish i could get a bull but i didn't draw, i'll get a mulie buck and a antelope tho, watch me :lol:

Tehn I guess Ill hafta fill my mulie tag (either/or) Whitetail buck tag, whitetail antlerless tag, cow elk, might pick up a bull elk tag next weekend if were not ombining, and a moose tag for hudsonbay.
