I'll bet most people don't know the song BMR. Here is a couple of verses of his song to help put your little story in perspective.

You put your left foot in
You take your left foot out
You put your left foot in
And you shake it all about
You do the hokie pokie
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about

You put your right foot in
You take your right foot out
You put your right foot in
And you shake it all about
You do the hokie pokie
And you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about

Riley ("Ralphie") heard me laughing and wanted to know what was so funny....I sang the song and even did the dance (no...no pictures!! ) for him and he simply shook his head and looked at me as if I had grown myself a set of horns!!

I'm gonna date myself, but ... We used to do the hokey pokey in a circle. It was mesmerizing. Just humming the song to myself makes my limbs twitch.

YOU, TOO??!! :o :o I can remember the hokey pokey in kindergarten with all of us kids in the gym...circle and all!!!

As long as you gals are dancing around the house this morning, remembering old tunes, here is a couple more.

Stand children up in a circle, facing each other, and take them through the motions.

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Touch your nose, and touch your toes and jump like jumping beans.
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Hold your nose, and dive real low and swim like fish down stream.
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Stand real straight, and walk real tall, just like a king or queen.
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Move around, and tap the beat, and shake your tambourine
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Touch your nose, and touch your toes and jump like jumping beans.

Row, row, row your boat.
Gently down the stream.
Hold your nose, and dive real low and swim like fish down stream.

I tap my shoe, that's what I do
I tap my shoe, that's what I do
I tap my shoe, that's what I do
Tap to the tune my darling
Flies in the sugar bowl, shoo away too
Shoo shoo, shoo away too
Shoo shoo, shoo away too
Shoo away too, my darling
I tap my shoe, that's what I do
