Yeap....sis looks impressed.....

But ya gotta do somethin bout the look on his horse's face. LOL

That's pretty impressive Soapweed, ya got yer very own "You are now leaving/entering S.D, or Nebraska" sign in your pasture,(depending on which direction your headin). Do you make the kids stand by it every trip by and take pictures? (my parent's always made us do that when traveling to other states)

Soap, do you know where those markers were made? For some reason I thought Kansas.

Now if I ended up upside down like Kozmo....like in an accident or something LOL.....it'd take a whole mess of Rolaids to recover. :-)

I will try my best. :-) Sunflower just said she would try very hard to get some photos into Photobuckets tomorrow.

That old marker is great! I'll bet lots of work went into placing it there years ago. I 2nd the motion for posting of Scotland pictures asap! It may be the closest I ever get to Scotland. If I tried that trick Kosmo has perfected my fat would roll down over my head and smother me!

I should try to find out more about the history of these old markers. They undoubtedly were hauled into place by team and wagon, and they'd have been a bearcat to unload and set by hand. They are granite and mighty heavy. We have several others along the state line in our pastures, but this is the only one still standing upright.

What was the reception for?

They have them to feed the wedding guests before the dance. :???:

How do they do it in California?

Often there is music and newly wed roasting and speeches and skits etc. Some have such an extensive program there is no dance. City folk serve a variety of things like chicken. Ranchers serve beef. At my wedding we had prime rib and each guest averaged one pound. That average included several infants.
