Say Mike or anyone else

I have never used that particular trimmer.

Appears as though it recognizes the length of the neck above the shoulder to use as a length guide & trim stop.

Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, because that's the only part that can be trimmed anyway. But it might be a pain to adjust from caliber to caliber, since the "full length" of a case is the measure used in trimming determination?

Wonder if it deburrs the inside and/or outside of the case neck when trimming?

Hey, I know. Buy one and report back to us. It looks promising.

I use an old RCBS trimmer with a drill that really needs to be updated with a carbide cutter.

look's like it's calibre specific, doesn't look like it chamfers and deburs, guess i'll find out just ordered one for .223,shouldbe here next week. i'm a sucker for new reloading gadget's . would love one of those hornady case prep center's, only the wife and $ in the way

Let me know how it works. With pictures if possible. I like gadgets too but I have been disappointed so many times I don't have enough room for more.

Thanks.

Update.... i got mine in the mail yesterday, had 200 .223 cases sized and ready to go. did the first one and put the caliper on,right on 1.750, did a few more just to make sure, very little varience (.005) got everything lined up and did a hundred in about 14minutes. so far i'm happy and impressed pretty much work's exactly like the video show's Make sure and wear saftey glasses as the chip's/trimming's do fly out a bit did mine over a larger garbage can and it worked well to catch the chip's. Hope to get some pic's up in the next few day's

Sounds good. Worst job in reloading is trimming.............

Do your .22 hornet cases grow in length? I've never trimmed mine and have shot some 10-12 times.

Interesting, i have to trim every third or fourth time, sometimes after every second time. doesn't seem to matter what brass. pretty much the same load for several years now, 13 gr. of Lil'gun with a 30 or 35 gr. bullet. shouldn't be a pressure issue, maybe a chamber issue? have got up to 9....10 loading's by far my favorite gopher gun

Was up half the night wondering how you can load that many times without trimming :? :???: what dies are you using? can you shed some light on this phenomonem?

Your close to the North Pole,

More Gravitational pull.,

it's stretching the cases. :D :D

Using just a plain set of ordinary Redding Full Length Sizing Dies. I do remember many years ago when I got them I was shooting 35 grain Berger bullets and they weren't real tight when seated. A couple fell out of the case while in my pocket.

As a solution, I chucked the primer stem in a drill and sanded the neck expander ball down a thousands or so with some very fine grit sandpaper and polished with Scotchbrite.

As a result, the bullets are tighter but the expander ball may not be stretching the cases when coming back up through the neck? Less case stretching was not my objective when doing it but I guess anything is possible? Never thought about before now.

I also anneal my brass every 4-5 shootings. Using Winchester brass. 10 grains of H-110. Plain old factory Ruger 77 rifle.

I have some 6MM PPC Lapua brass that have been shot at least 100 times without trimming. But I know why that is. I neck size them exclusively with a bushing die and use a "bump" die to set the shoulders back now & then. Plus the chamber is a good & tight one.

Do you clean the inside of your necks good before using a Full Length Sizing die?

How do you know when yours are too long? Bolt doesn't want to close?

thank-you for your reply. i believe that your polishing of the expander ball has something to do with it, makes sense. i don't anneal my brass, use winchester and remington brass. clean the inside of neck with a brass bore brush mounted on the rcbs case trim mate. use a hornady die set. use saami spec's of 1.403 before trimming. ruger 77-22hornet heavy target version.
