I remember a thread talking about using clover in the mineral to reseed. What time of year does this work best? I'm thinking probably spring and fall. After we cut and bale we will rotate cows thru to clean up the fields I'm wondering if I'd get any clover to take in mid to late june? Suggestions?

I use it any time the manure is loose and the field they are grazing needs the seed. We don't use it if the cows are on dry, poorer quality feed and the manure piles are piles as it leaves the seed high and dry. I wouldn't worry too much whether you use it in June and will get a catch in June - some will come up in June, some may come up in the fall or June next year. This system is not an instant method that will result in you seeing the whole pasture reseeded perfectly and regrowing 10 days later.

I understand it'll take time to see results. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting $. We have 80ac from the neiboring farm that we bought several years go. The ground was real tired and we've been bringing it back with a ton of chicken litter/yr after first cut, 50# urea at green up but I still would like to add tonage if possible. Thanks
