I snuck Ty's new Tikka 25.06 off the rack this A'M and went for a stillhunt.It's brutal walking in the meadows about knee deep snow with slush underneath-I can't really hunt my area properly because there are places I can't cross yet. I caught this little fella standing in the willows-i got to within 300 yards of him and got a good rest and the .06 tucked one right tight behind his shoulder. I didn't get a good look at his horns but I took him anyway-I've still got another buck tag and I had an itch to try that new rifle. The hunting is pretty hard on the 45 year old legs right now but the rut really fired up the last two days so it's all good.
