When watering the trees if you want them to thrive heat a nail and poke a very small hole ( or drill it ) about 1/8th " or smaller in the bottom of your bucket and sit it at the base of the tree. Might have to filter the water thru an old pair of panty hose stretched over the bucket.

Fill each morning and possibly evening so that the water goes straight down and takes several hours to empty the bucket and the roots will grow down and make for a much healthier tree.

This will make a small amount of water go a long way and it becomes much quicker to do as you just dump in a bucket full then move to the next tree.

That's interesting about watering the trees, George. Sounds like it would work if you only had a few trees. We've got a spot where we could try that.

R A, do you cook eggs in the oven in the shell? How do you do that? Or am I confused and you just pictured them in the shell? :?

I've never seen brand new baby bunnies before!
Loved the picture of the dog swimming with the stick!

Thanks for sharing.

BTW, how do you whisper to a cat? :? We got a new 1/2 grown barn kitten yesterday and our house cat (Magoo) is all bent out of shape about it. I figured you would have some knowledge to share so Magoo would be nice to the newcomer.

To have the cats get along place the new kitten in the bathroom ( or another room where you can place a litter box, feed and water ) with the door closed and feed the old cat right outside for a couple of days so they get the smell of each other.

Usually takes about 3 days and the kitten will be tolerated and a long time before it gets accepted.

This is a barn cat, George.
But I wish we had done that anyway. We have a place outside where we shut him up with food and water, but let him out
the next day. Had I read this first, we would have waited a couple more days. Cats are funny, aren't they? I so want some barn cats. People say don't feed them, but we do anyway because I don't think cats live very long on mice alone. If cats are good hunters, they hunt even if they aren't hungry. Our Magoo cat is really a killer cat :!: and he certainly isn't hungry. He's also declawed in in the front but that doesn't seem to bother him. At first we were hesitant to let him out at night, but he throws such a fit to be let out, we gave up. He won. :P
He's about 10 years old now, so he took good care of himself outside in the dark! And he still throws a fit if we don't let him out at night~or we aren't paying attention that he wants out. He puts on a real show. That cat has been more entertaining than a room full of monkeys!

Dogs have masters, cats have staff!

Thanks, George! I have very few buckets, but might be able hook that tree up. Each spring and fall I buy a few shrubs and trees that have been picked over and really discounted. I paid a few dollars for that tree. I like a landscaped place.

Faster horses - I cook those eggs in the shell. preheat oven to 325. Bake in that muffin deal for 30 minutes, then cool. Just a way to kinda hard boil them.

I have never had to do what your doing to your cats. Cats are untrainable... :D
