I would HATE to live my life as a roping steer. People don't realize they are ATHLETES and need to be treated as such. Not overfed, but certainly nourished. We had a friend, old PRCA rodeo cowboy that had an indoor barn and roping steers. He grained them and didn't feed them a lot of hay! He could get more than one season out of a set of steers which was in his best interest. They were always strong........healthy.......not fat.........but fit..........seems to me that when they are weak, that's when they get hurt. You touched on one of my pet peeves.......sorry for the rant.
Everything certainly looks fat and fine at your place, as usual!! That little boy is sooooo cute, dimples and all!! Those kids.........all those critters........are lucky you are their caretaker!!!

My late father in law used to have a saying regarding facial hair (including my mustache) He would say " I can't understand why a man would cultivate on his face what grows wild on his a$$."
If you could wiggle your nose, wave your wand and turn all the rodents and poultry into cows you'd be rich.
Then again, with your lifestyle, you're richer than most. :wink:

lol....funny how some people just don't like facial hair. I always have some form of it....maybe clean shave once a year at most. I made a HUGE mistake last year. I clean shaved there in the middle of Nov right before deer season. Didn't take long for me to realize the gods of the woods were frowning down on me. I started growing my next deer season's beard right then.....
I was just thinkin that the other day....
I just put some stuff in the freezer, but would of had well over 200 head of cattle had I figured out the nose wiggle or found that wand...(I've looked everywhere).... I was almost making myself sick wanting more cows there until I started raising all this meat for the freezer. I'm still going to build as big of a herd as I can, but am quite content now for some reason and am going to build slowly. I'm doing what I love to do right now....things are good!
