Soooooo Yanuck, what's your opinion of Sundin now???

When he was announced as the third shooter in the shootout I figured it would go exactly the way it did . . .

Hey did you see Moore's stickless break away and skate pass to Blake? That had to be the coolest play I ever saw in NHL!!! Dominic Moore snaps his stick stopping a Vancouver pass just inside the defensive zone but grabs the puck with his skate and kick passes it between his skates all the way across center and the Canuck's blue line on a breakaway before kicking it over to Blake who makes a beautiful shot on Luongo who makes a good save - wow!

But man it was hard to watch Sundin put that last shot past Toskala.

I didn't watch it, I'm a snob, if it isn't Hockey Night in Canada, its not worth it!! I think it'd be tough to come back as a visitor after playing there for 13 yrs, but it'd feel good to beat your old team wouldn't it??!!

Well you sure are right about coming back being a tough one for Mats!!! There was a video tribute to him part way through the first period and he came out of the bench to greet the crowd - they were giving him a standing "O".

They just kept on cheering for him when the ref called the forwards in for the face off (Mats was to take the face off) and his face was all screwed up so the ref skated away to give him time to collect himself. Later on the announcer said that Mats told the ref "Just drop the puck and get on with it . . . ."

Another very funny moment was when there was a lengthy scrum in front of the Toronto net and when Toskala finally got the puck covered, the ref blew the whistle and threw his hands out for "no goal" . But Sundin was standing right beside and a bit behind the ref and and the ref's hand gave Mats a karate chop right in his face!! They had a big laugh over it. :lol2: :lol2:

Burnt, don't tell Yanuck but all in all it was a very entertaining game. One that would have been worth sitting in the stands for. Don't know who I would cheer for though. Toronto and Vancouver, mmmm, it would have to be Vancouver. The break away was awesome, too bad they didn't score.

The Calgary/Edmonton game was good. Not a Bertuzzi fan but the shoot out goal he drained was pretty nifty.

:? When do we get our work done anyway, what with hockey all day? :?
