A few pictures from the past week. Hail looks bad but we'll take moisture anyway we can get it this time of year!

Moisture coming in the form of hail.

Nifty pictures, Empty Pockets. What power of telescopic lens do you have to take such a close-up picture of the wood duck? Ol' Mickey looks kind of ill, being so green and all. He's got whiskers all over his head, including his ears.

Wow! Great shots!!. :D

My digital camera is slowly dying and the picture quality is getting quite poor so I'm in the market for a new camera. Everyone here has such great clear pictures. What cameras are you all using?

Good work EP. You have some very nice photos here. I sure do admire your creek. I would love to have some timber on our creeks like that. I would like to call it a "crick", but for some reason that doesn't look right when it is spelled out. :)

We had hail like that a 2 thursdays ago. Got a good rain with it too, so that was nice for a change. Do you have enough moisture for a good start yet?

Glad you enjoyed the pic's.

Jassy, I was thinking about how great your aerial pictures were from your plane when I titled that picture.

Soapweed, I have a 12x with an optical zoom. I was about 50 ft from the duck when I snapped the picture. Mickey, like Hollywood is part of the green movement. Thats why he looks so tough.

Jiggerboss, it's a Sony Cyber-shot. I wanted something so I could do some quality wildlife shots. A little akward but love the pictures. Probably too much camera for this old rancher.

Tap, Actually the pictures are of 2 different creeks. We call them cricks also. The one with the big cutbank is on big Cottonwood, it runs thru the whole ranch from the north to south, the other creek runs in from the west to east and meets Big Cottonwood right behind my house. It has no name but is nicely wooded. We have 7 mile of creek running thru our place so have a bunch of watergaps to fix when it does run.

That hailstorm is from the 19th, reminants of your storm. We've had 3" of moisture since late March, so the grass is coming good. Filled pockets in the creeks but no runoff, yet. Now if we keep catching a few showers and don't get too hot, could be a heck of a grass year. Thanks again- EP

The wood duck picture is amazing! So sharp.
Very pretty hills, too. I like pictures that show the tree structure without leafcover.

Wonderful pictures!!!

You guys must have gotten hail when we got our wonderful little 1/2 inch rain!

I was just asking a guy I work with about Wood Ducks. I have never seen a Wood Duck and would give about anything to see one live. They are such beautiful birds. It's funny that you and I don't live all that far apart, but I've never seen a Wood Duck here or around here. Now I'll have to really watch for them.

Nice sunset picture too. As a matter of fact, they're all great photos. How about some with lambs next go? Pretty please!!!

Glad things are starting to green up & grow, and glad you got moisture too!

Cheers---

Say nr and TTB do you ladies know how to get down off an elephant?

Hmmm....nope on this end. Maybe nr knows, she's a much sharper gal than I.

So, BMR, how do you get off an elephant?

Heck for someone as short as me, gettin' on the elephant is probably as big of a challenge as gettin' off!

Look forward to your response, I think

Cheers---

TTB

My question is what are you doing on an elephant that now you have to get off? I actually have seen folks get off elephants in India (On TV, haven't been blessed with that trip although was offered once when I was younger) but me thinks BMR is trying to be a clever dickens.

Well Big Muddy, I must not have the memory of an elephant. all I can remember is the elephant kneels down first.
This isn't a Republican joke is it?

Empty Pockets, those are tremendous pictures. Thank yoou for sharing them.

Big Muddy, you are a misguided man if you think you get down off an elephant. That's all I have to say.

That must be a line from your country cause my uncle who was raised around Dungannon told me that one years ago.

I was just check to see if nr and TTB were sharp this morning.
