Hi Ranchers Friends!
I haven't fallen off the face of the earth yet, just been very busy lately with work. My " executive in training" program ended early and we all got placed early; my new role was effective on March 2nd, and my official week with my new team was this week. I spent last week wrapping up my projects in my last rotation and dealing with a project manager whose behavior taught me that I still have the fire to stand up to someone regardless of their position or title. I am learning my role and responsibilities and so far, I am responsible for managing two transportation carriers for all of the retail business for small packages (anything less than 150 lbs) and anything that is non-retail. I prayed to God for a while to give me the opportunity to belong in a permanent team and to have a manager who will be fair and humble; God answered my prayers! I have lots to learn and eager to learn as my responsibilities and the business aspect of my role and my team, so that I can do my job well and help my team members in any way that I can.
This week, I had a few issues that I came up and I needed to help resolve; particular today, I worked until 6:00 PM after everyone left to go home for the weekend helping someone get a shipment out on time. I walked out of the office feeling good and grateful to God that I am a very resourceful person who was able to leveraged on others for pointers in getting the needed information to help this person; my employer has thank you cards that you can send someone when they do something good for you; I got my first thank you card in this role today! What a little thing, and it sure made my week!
It was such a busy week and I am looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow, I will go to yoga for the first time (my friend bought sessions on Groupon) and gave them to me because they want to spend time with me. I felt so humbled when she did that; I have been on a super budget saving every penny so that I could pay my credit cards off; I just did that on Wednesday! I managed to finally pay off everything and my bed, which I must confess, knowing that I owed and no savings to my name kept me awake several nights. Tomorrow, I will also tutor one of my friends who is going back to school trying to get her degree but needs to take Algebra. She is going to try to take the placement test and skip this class; however, math is not her strength, so I am determined to help her pass the test so she won't have to take the class.
I hope that everyone is doing well and looking forward to spring.
Regards,
Sweetbasil
