Oh man, that makes me think of how bad alot of our hay ground needs a light disking. Gophers have made it so damn rough it about shakes your kidneys lose. HAYMAKER, you let us know if you disk up any more cannonballs.

I will, believe it or not,I found a pretty nice point today while discing, those Indians camped down along this creek bottom many years...........good luck

Looks like you got quite a bit accomplished today Haymaker. Ours is still got water standin in a few places. I sure would like to get in the pasture and get busy renovatin.
Mr Lilly's dad did hook up the disk to work the "practice track" for the race car. He took it out and made a few laps.....test run. Then unhooked the disk.
I was like.................. :o Why didnt ya leave it hooked up...I can use it just as easy as I could the renovator.

You asked in another post if we were gonna sprig any fields....I don't think we will this year. Sure would like to, but I'm plannin on cleanin up an old abandoned hayfield and see what grows there without plantin anything. Bout don't do any good to plant around here, dang hogs will be in it tearin it up faster than it can grow.

Yes those dang pigs can be a problem, bout got em thinned out up here, they got into a set of pens I have once and plowed them up pretty good,I thought......... say that aint all bad those pigs can really plow cuz that dirt had hard panned pretty good over the years, kinda liked that........then they pulled the centers out of about a hundred rolls of hay I had left in the field   No more piggys.........good luck

Haymaker....

You've got things lookin' pretty good! Al Gustin, our farm broadcaster reported yesterday that field work is just starting in NW SD and SW ND. Tap and FH, you guys farming? I imagine folks are trying to get wheat in as to take advantage of the little moisture we have.

Mr. Haymaker, I also believe we have that same model of tractor. I'd have to ask lazy ace to be sure, but I think we do.

Keep up the good work, and be sure to take and share pictures as it grows!

Cheers---

TTB

Haymaker, you lucky dog, you can get out in the field. I'm itching to get rolling. It will around 4 weeks before we start.

Looks good Haymaker.... Do you have to worry about your fields blowing? And what are you planting?? Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven..

Katrina,no most of the dirt in the Hill country is too coarse to blow bad, south of San Antonio we have some real fine sandy stuff, and yes its always a problem.
I have to plant some Red Top this year, and sudan(go man go) maybe some Millet, that seed is plenty pricey this year...............good luck

What's red top?? Is that a brand name? Do you let your sudan mature? Do you graze it or bale it? Nice to see no ridges...

Red Top cane, its pretty popular in the south, because it can be fed to horses/mules and of course cattle, where some of the hybrid sudans can not.
The weather dictates what really happens in hay fields, but if the rain Gods are friendly this year I will cut at boot stage, and depending on weather, refertilize, and try to get another cuttin in late summer/early fall, if we dont get any rain, turn the cows in, and let them bale it,havent lost any yet...............good luck

We are seeing the start of folks planting season around hee. Not much but a few folks have gone out and ran their plows to test them out. Planting for corn, the major crop around here, is still about 5 weeks away unless we get real warm and than they really run the risk of a cold snap but usually it is up and going good by May 1st.... We are waiting till April 10th or so and putting in a berseem, ryegrass and barley mix for haylage... Will see how that works.. If it works it will save a lot of money on nitro a year, if it doesn't.. Well, I cost myself some money this year

We have a TM 130, had some issues but all in all is a very usefull unit. And what kind of service do you get?

CA

The TM series are good tractors, and a step up from what I run,I think Juan,is running a TM.
I liked the TS because you can keep the weight about 10K with wheel weights, easy to trailer field to field,I bought two of them, the one I kept with me here in the Hill country has given me good service,no problems to speak of,the other one got stolen in south TX,probably in Mexico.....................good luck
