I've been thinking and praying about the drought and how it's affecting all those of us who husband the land and eat off it. I know the first course of action:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 1 Chron. 7:14
I've been doing this, as I am sure some of you are too.
Now 2ndly:
In Gen. 12:1-3 God tells Abraham:...I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
I have a good friend in Wasilla(AK) whose great grandad was in the war in Holland. He was a Christian and a baker, and he had children. His children were fighting in the underground and he knew it. He wanted them to be safe so he made a deal with God, he would look out for the apple of God's eye(Zech.2:8) if God would look out for the apple of his eye, so he hid Jewish fugitives and God protected all his children.
I've been praying about the drought. And this thought came to me, that if we help the Jewish farmers and ranchers in the Land along with doing what it says in 2Chron.7:14 God will stop the drought and bless us. And even if He doesn't stop the drought as a whole He will take care of those of us who ride for the brand.
I worked in Israel for 5 &1/2 months awhile ago on a goat farm there run by Tal & Adi Ellis called Tzon El, near Zippori(very close to Nazareth). The farm there had alot of needs. Plus they had lost their entire flock of sheep to rustlers before I came and never had them returned.
Their neighbour,Yoel Zilberman, a cattleman, started getting friends to help him watch his place because of the high levels of blatent impudent rustling going on on his ranch.
I also heard about how some other cattlemen over there were trying to bring longhorns in, because the main cattle in Israel are of European descent and aren't working out too well in the heat and southwestern style country they have.
And then there's the flock of Jacob sheep that made it back to the Land via Gil &Jenna Lewinsky. They've struggled alot and have had to move that flock out of Judea and Samaria to the north of Israel.
Third there's a separated mom over there who wants to start a horse therapy ranch to help families recovering from violence. That I stumbled across acouple days ago
Tommy Waller of HaYovel Ministries does trips over there to help grape farmers in Judea and Samaria(the West Bank)cause his believes Isaiah 61:5 where it says:
And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Waller's doing the vinedressing part but he isnt helping with the livestock operation part.
Anyway, If you feel something, I have links and some addresses.
