If we got rid of all the paints and mules, we would have just about the right number of horses

I always thought it was impossible to have too many horses.. I seem to remember folks making up reasons to have just one more horse, you know a replacement, or what if folks come to visit and we need an extra one or two dozen, never know just how many will show, lol... My hired guy says he will be fine if we switch to equines but he wants a burro instead of a horse, goofy guy.

Nice, but I geuss you must like that ATV a little to be riding it out to check the horses. :D

Can't beat Nebraska skies and horses in the same picture...Some really great shots Soapweed...How come my lawn ornaments won't pose like yours... :?

I was about ready to call it a day after baling hay. As I neared the house, the horses looked to be standing on a hilltop with a "mediumly" (if that is a word :( :-) ) pretty sky in the background. The ATV seemed to be the easiest way to go take pictures. For one thing, it will get through some narrow corral gates where a pickup won't go. This saved me from going the long way around and coming in on the wrong side of the horses for photo purposes. Guess there is a time and a place for just about everything.

Wanna buy a horse Soapweed? :-)

When I looked at the larger photo, I thought to myself that it could easily be a subject matter for a Tim Cox painting.

Hey soapweed-- I sure enjoy your pictures of the sandhills. Reminds me of my younger days haying in the country. Of course then it was all stacks and no cabs with airconditioning. I hauled the big spotted mule to Utah this week so now have to get going on the long tall sorrel.

Tom, glad you joined up with this rowdy outfit on Ranchers.net. We do have a way of having fun and killing time.

Hope your long tall sorrel turns out as good as the one we bought in Wyoming. Ours is really a traveler and fun to ride. He is also maneuverable enough that you can steer him around to work cattle. Maybe someday he will "naturally" watch a cow. One can only hope.

Keep on posting, and keep us informed about ranching in Wyoming. :-)
