soapweed...i had one of those cows have a calf like that yesterday too, like the one standing up...was gonna get pictures but got there too late...looks like it was a beautiful day there today...those big pastures would make my life a lot easier rite now...ive been calving out in a bean stubble field...very sloppy and not much fun...take care

I see you took advantage of the nice day today...Oh I know, it's just another day at the office, right?...well at least it was a great day for just about anything. Bet it was great having the whole family there for the day...I'm looking forward to that on monday, son is home for spring break, and we've got all kind of projects lined up while he's here to help...no rest for him! Thanks again

Thanks for the pics. I like that tagging rig on the 4 wheeler. I thought about one to mount on the loader of a small 4 wheel drive tractor.

You reminded me of one day I saw my partner out in pasture with his tractor/loader- and he was climbing up his loader over the engine back to the cab with an old cow just throwing a war dance fit around the tractor...
I went to see if he needed help.... He said he had it handled...

Anyway for some reason he needed to take this calf in and doctor it but momma was not letting him near it- so he got bullheaded and instead of calling for help, went and got the tractor drove over to the calf- got momma chasing him around the tractor until he could grab the calf and throw in the bucket- but she was too close behind so he had to dive in too and then take the hard route back up to the cab...

Wish I'd been there a minute or two earlier

Thanks for the picture story soapweed,I can tell you been keeping your boy busy at the shop building those neat calf katchers etc..............good luck

Took a while for all of em to Download...but it was well worth the time. Really enjoy your pictures Soapweed. You have a beautiful family. And you can tell by the pictures that you enjoy each others company to the fullest.
I'd just like to thank you for posting all the pictures you do to share with us all. It takes lots of time if your on dial up like I am. Sometimes when viewin your photo's, it's like gettin a "Sunday Mornin Message" It's not the words, it's all in the pictures...the smiles on your faces...and the way you can just tell that you love what you are doin. Can't get any better'n that.

Hi Soapweed,

I can only dream about running cattle in country like yours. Big open spaces with good grass and good cattle. Not a subdivision in sight, and looks truly peaceful.

Thanks for the pictures!

Good looking family pictures. We never tire seeing your photos.
Your secretary deserves a chair in that office!

Thank you for the compliments. I've always taken a lot of pictures through the years, and it is even more fun since Peach Blossom gave me this pocket-sized digital camera for Father's Day a couple years ago. It is handy because it is always along.

I didn't end up taking very many today, so will insert them on this post.

If that's not proof of black helicopters I don't know what is.

I'm going to have to take some photography lessons from you, or maybe need a different camera.

I'll bettcha that Mrs. Soapweed wouldn't take kindly to giving up her four wheeler and tagging cage.
