We are learning about land use in the Amazon Rainforest in school, and my task is to take on the perspective of a cattle rancher. I have a few questions for you relative to your position as a farmer, and I was hoping you could help me advance my understanding of this topic. Here are a few questions that I have.

• What is life as a cattle farmer like? What are your primary challenges, and how do you think cattle farming contributes to society?

• One of the main prejudices that people have against cattle ranchers is that their industry is harmful for the environment because of issues such as deforestation. What's your opinion as a defender against this accusation?
• What are the primary benefits of the beef industry, and do you think it deserves a larger portion of land in the rainforest to thrive?
• Are there any other key points that you would like to mention?

I would like to know what percentage of Rainforest is cleared for soybean production in comparison to beef cattle production?
My understanding is cattle get grazed on land that is depleted from soybean farming and cattle graze it while it is reverting back to rain forest .
Maybe someone with first hand knowledge can chime in and not just an opinion.
