rember, we won most every major battle.but still lost the war,just goes to show yuh. but ill trade sherman for disney anyday,at least he went back north after destroying our country!!!

Losing battle toward the end of the war really can't be attributed directly to poor tactics on the part of the south. As elluded to in earlier posts, they were brilliant strategists and great on the battlefield tacticians. The loss is probably more directly because of the cost of funding the war for a long period of time. If the economy does not have the infrastructure to support the war, it is difficult to continue funding.

I had a few in me when I wrote that. Unfortunately I don't get the history channel, I'm too cheap for anything more then the most basic cable. Thinking about Satelite so I can get RFD-TV though.

I'm probably not a good example of a Yankee but somebody needs to live up hear and balance out all the liberals.

I chuckle with phrases like "The South is gonna rise again", the reason I chuckle is that the majority of the military is in the South. Fort Drum is full of soldiers who hate the place and want to get somewhere warm.

After I watched the show- the first thought that came to mind was "how many TV sets are there in the deep south tonite with bullet holes in them" :???: :wink: :lol: :lol: I don't think Sherman is much loved yet south of the Mason Dixon......

You are correct. That show was BS from the word go.

The word "Sherman" is still not allowed in my dad's house.

The greatest insult you can get is when someone maybe describing your actions to another person and this statement is said, " well, he's a Yankee".

' Nuff said as that explains it all and the conversation will usually switch to " how's ya momma doing?"

Certain aspects of the " war of Northern agression" are NOT over!! :wink:

Alabama--I take it then that you didn't watch the History Channels new show out entitled "Shermans March"- portraying what a great strategist General Sherman was and how he was the father of modern blitzkreig type warfare :???: :wink: :lol:

that show was produced by Damyankees. Everbody knows the south won the war.
