Looking out the window and seeing....

I know lots of people complain about deer in their gardens and flower beds, but I just love seeing them.

These 2 I think are the 2 that were hanging around last fall. They are just yearlings, the one on the lawn is a little buck, couldn't get a good enough look at the other to see. The one on the lawn is quite a bit braver, and it was funny when he saw my husband in the living room window. He would wag his tail, shake his head and stamp his foot. Pretty tough fellow  Didn't know whether he should be scared or not, I'm pretty sure that if someone had gone outside he wouldn't have been nearly so brave

The rest of the herd. They aren't more than 500 feet from the house, down in the horse pasture. I don't mind them for the summer, but when they start informing all their relatives and friends where the free lunch is come winter, I don't care for them anymore

And I had to add this picture, kinda fuzzy but it isn't too often you get close enough, long enough to snap a pick of a badger. He is kinda a good news/bad news deal. On one hand he IS eating gophers, on the other hand, well, the HOLES. With the amount of gophers we have around here it seems almost a crime to kill these guys.
