Things taught to us by Soapweed

Ok I have to comment I just have to it's my nature. It's funny through my father I've known Soapweed for a long time. You know your parents talk about someone and then all the sudden it's like you know them? Through that perspective I know he's a steward of his land, involved in the community church, goes to the bar buys drinks and yet doesn't drink himself, is nice to visit with, is into horse sales and talking horses, and above all very kind to my grandfather when they run into one another. He's a very pleasant man to run into in town and say hello to and a quick chat.

Here's the thing though through the internet which is so odd for me to say I've gained yet another perspective. He's a camara toater and if you don't watch out you might be an INTERNET STAR! I've kidded many I know that they are internet stars now thanks to Soapweed. I've also talked about subjects that had it not been for the internet I would have never known how he thought or he would have known I would have thought. We would have never discussed some of the issues we have here and some have been heated. I would have never known his views on homosexuals, abortion, democrats, Obama, McCain, and he wouldn't have known mine. Yet this one view i know has shaped the way we think of one another now. When what's so silly is had it not been for stumbling on to a site and strongly disagreeing over it I would have just had the opinion stated in the first paragraph.
Because Soapweed is a traditional value conservative, that taints everything you said in the first paragraph???

What's the big deal with being a "INTERNET STAR"?

I remember when the internet and web site first started being used by school we couldn't put the kids pictures on the site or names. We might be setting them up as targets for pedophiles ect or parents hiding kids from other parents. But now days kids put pictures of every thing and everybody on networking sites if a stalker or pedophile is looking for somebody they have lots of choices.

Speaking of STARS.......I just realized that I now get ManTracker on the Dish Sat.

No see so quickly to go on defense it wasn't that I was saying he's bad for disagreeing I was pointing out that either of us would have ever known the others stance on many of the issues had it not been for the internet. What I would have known was simply anothers opinion and said a few hellos at the local gas station it what I was pointing out.

I have never met soapweed personally and haven't been around ranchers.net for as long as most of you... But I will say that from what I have seen and read here, Soapweed seems like someone you would love to have as a neighbor. From a ranchers view, or at least to me, a good neighbor is worth a million bucks. Thanks Soap, from what I have seen you fill a much needed space here.

You've got him pegged right.

Talk about devine intervention.....
I got an email that said I was watching a post on ranchers net...... Although I wasn't.. I clicked on it and after some reading I found this post and some words that come to mind when I think of Soap and Peach and Kozmo is: kindness.......openness to who they are...... True western spirit.
A remarkable family who have known hardships.....
Kozmo... I am still smiling about your bridleless ride through the herd!!!
The joy of lifes' simple pleasures........ And thanks to soap, I always look at life and nature as if I wanted to take a picture...
As Soap would say: " My hat is off to you!" :tiphat:
