Unsurprisingly, the video has caught the attention of some in the National Football League, namely the New York Jets. The team recently hosted Rugland and his kicking coach, Michael Husted, for a tryout.

This reminded me of Jan Stenerud- also a Norwegian... When I was living in Gallatin County he lived about a mile from me (he in a golf course house- and me in a trailer :wink: ) ..But when he was staying there he would go out and go to kicking a ball around like that- and it was incredible to watch...

The Detroit Lions are giving a Havard Rugland a shot on the team, signing the kicker but declining to disclose details of the deal.

Rugland hasn't played a single game at any level of football.
