Mr Lilly was havin trouble with this bale...right after he dumped it at about 2/3rds done....I noticed the main big chain was loose, before I could get over there to the tractor to let him know.......It slung it..so we had to put the chain back on and tighten everthang back up. Thennnn........I had to unroll this mess by hand....and string it out back into what resembled a windrow for him to re-roll......

This is Jasper, she's fixin to start him on barrels too.

Lil Lilly was on the trailer throwin bales down, I was stackin em on a lil wagon thing, friend of ours was draggin it into the barn where Mr Lilly stacked it......So we all had our hands on those 100 bales today LOL I'll prolly pay for it tomorrow. I didn't remember to get my gloves off the dash of my toyota......my hands were red red raw when we got finished.....cold water on em felt good. Lesson learned..never leave home without my gloves again.

Yeap prolly have some old ones around here somewhere. Till this year tho we've not had to have square bales. I hate havin to buy hay!!!!! Least they aren't wire tied bales....just that old red hay twine.

Lilly, have you ever heard of hay hooks? They make handling bales
much easier on hands.

Seems like in an old Gregory Peck movie from back in the '70's, someone got killed with a hay hook. The hooks do make handling small square bales much easier.

That is another set of very good pictures, Jersey Lilly. Looks like y'all are sure hard working people. Thanks for the Texas tour.

I'm ready for a few wet years. Where there's lots of hay ever time ya cut it, and ya can get the job done with and finished. This year things are draggin on since there's not much grass.....we're balin what we can where we can. More by word of mouth, people offerin pastures that aren't bein used for cattle or hay, for those of us that do need it. Only thing is, not too many have their own hay equipment. Ours aint the greatest...but it gets us by till we can do somethin better. We've had folks ask us to cut and bale stuff for them. We don't do hay for others, that way if it aint the perdiest bale, it's ours, and we dont gripe, and the cows will eat it.

What all that I just typed amounts to is......wheww....we don't normally hafta work this hard LOL
