Thought for you Macon, or someone else on the board.

I work at a newspaper and we do job printing all the time.

IMO, we need to get the specs together, size, quantity etc. and
get a quote as to what it will cost before we go much further.

I think you are going to be shocked at what it will cost
to do a calendar in FULL COLOR.

Let's decide size and quantity, type of paper needed
and I'll get a ball park figure. OK?

A "Ranchers.Net" calendar sounds like a good idea. Maybe a "low cost" way to do it would be to just feature one picture and one poem per month, along with calendar days and dates. It could just be on a feature page on Ranchers.Net, that would be "user-friendly" and easily printed on home computers if people wanted a "hard copy." This could be formatted a year in advance, so that the calendar pages could be printed off and put together as a calendar ahead of time, by those wishing to do it.

Just a thought for what it is worth.

I am not against your idea Soapweed, but I was hoping that Macon, or someone on the board would be willing to take this on. I bet most would be willing to donate their photographs, or poems to this project. I figured if someone wanted to put it together and sell calendars that they should also make the possible profit too. I am aware that a full color calendar would be expensive, so there is sure that to factor in. Your idea would sure be a lower cost option.

I looked online at several different companies that will print calendars for you....the least amount that I found that can be ordered is 200...at a cost of 13.95 each. That's lots of money for one person to take on, not knowin if they will sell. I"m sure some would, but I don't think all of them would....then that same person would have postage to pay for as well.
It is a good idea...just an expensive one. :? Wish it wasn't so.

I do like Soapweeds Idea...Make up a Calendar page for each month, and post it somewhere that it can be printed off. Not quite the same, but very kind to the budget.
