U.S. Senator Warns Japan of Sanctions
U.S. Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) warned Japan this week of economic sanctions if its import ban on U.S. beef continues, the Kyodo News reported.

"The embargo has gone on too long, and an amicable agreement must be reached soon or Congress will have no choice but to impose trade sanctions against Japan," Brownback said after meeting with Japanese Ambassador Ryozo Kato. "Our beef is the safest and highest quality in the world, and it's high time for Japan to recognize this," he said.

Gee I guess Senator Sam didn't hear R-CALFs claim that all beef coming from a country affect by BSE is tainted and unfit for human consumption. Or Judge Cebulls comment about the Genuine risk of DEATH that beef coming from a country affected by BSE presents. I think Oldtimer, Sandhusker, Haymaker and a few of you other R-CALFers better clue him in. And I think there are a few countries that would argue the SAFEST AND HIGHEST QUALITY IN THE WORLD statement. Maybe you R-CALFers should clue him into the loopholes, non compliance and a few of the other problems within the US system.

Tam- You have to remember tho that these people were comparing US beef to beef coming from a country with a cluster of diseased cattle being found- a cluster that includes cattle being infected 3 years after the feed ban- a cluster that is still finding diseased animals- a cluster area that possibly has major feed ban issues, but refuses to look at the evidence- even fights to keep the evidence from coming out under oath--- Canada...

Tam- I finally figured it out- that wasn't a chicken picture-it was a snipe, since you continually snipe and snip away

Oldtimer AT LEAST THEY ARE BEING FOUND

And this
but refuses to look at the evidence- even fights to keep the evidence from coming out under oath---
coming from someone that supports R-CALF lieing about our beef just so they can get an injunction to protect their historical high cattle prices.
This coming from a man that supports a group that has a leaders that would say this
"we know if we are going to keep consumer confidence we are going to maintain some of the highest standards in the world to make sure that BSE is not introduced into this country. And we are going to make sure we have the best meat and bone meal ban in this country in place. So if for some reason we did find a case we can stand and look our consumers right in the eye and say, don't worry we have had these firewalls in place for years, the only country prior to having a case of BSE to have these firewalls in place for so many years. And we did it to make sure if a case was ever found it was a non-issue. If we look them right in the eye and say that I will guarantee they will keep eating beef"
only to come out himself and admit that Canada has had firewall in place for years that protect their consumers and herd that the US doesn't.
This coming from a man that lives in a country that has very little credibility left because of government investigations that proved the testing system, feed bans and firewalls all have major problems. Oldtimer do us all a favor and really look at THE EVIDENCE and tell us that our beef isn't as safe if not safer than the US beef.
Besides I said
I think there are a few countries that would argue the SAFEST AND HIGHEST QUALITY IN THE WORLD statement.
I know you are OLD Oldtimer but I think you should be able to remember the US and Canada are not the only countries that produce beef and some of those other countries have NO BSE at all. So how can you say their beef isn't safer in the light of R-CALFs statement about ALL BEEF COMING FROM A COUNTRY AFFECTED BY BSE IS TAINTED?

It's HIGH TIME this Senator and others stop refusing to look at the evidence then maybe they would understand why the US is having problems with their trading partners.

Tam- Why do you worry about anything that happens in the US with the cattle or beef industry?

Oh- I keep forgetting- you live in Canada and have to depend on shirttailing on the industry the US cattlemen built

It's not her fault, it's the past leadership up there that allowed Canada's packing industry to fall under foreign control and allowed the entire industry to become dependant on one country for their very survival. Oooops, I guess she was in leadership.....

Sandhusker are you a leader in the industry in the US because you belong to a beef organization? Sorry you are a blind follower aren't you, my mistake    I doubt anyone would consider me in a leadership roll just because I happen to belonged to the SSGA general membership for the last few years.

But I have to ask, are you going to let this Senator threaten the Japanese when you know your beef is not the SAFEST BEEF IN THE WORLD because ALL BEEF COMING FROM A COUNTRY AFFECT BY BSE IS TAINTED AND UNFIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION and PRESENTS A GENUINE RISK OF DEATH. Come on guys fill this Senator in.

I doubt anyone would consider going to SSGA General meetings to find out what is going on, voting on the issues and doing a bit of fund raising as a leadership roll Sandhusker so what did I lie about.

Not you, the Senator. You've called other people liars who have made that very same statement. Are you going to be consistant?

No I just think you, Oldtimer and Haymaker should get Leo or Bill to get in touch with her and fill her in on the R-CALF stand on things. Not the one that was in the Washington post either, I mean the one you are trying to prove in a Federal Court in Montana. You know the stand I'm talking about don't Sandhusker?

hell, maybe gw will just bomb them too if they do not comply. nothing like force feeding a country some of the most TSE tainted food on the globe i.e. the USA has the most documented strains of TSE in different species than any other country (only reason cats and dogs have not been documented is that they have not looked at them enough, if at all), all of which has been rendered and fed back to animals for human and animal consumption. why else would GW force the infamous BSE MRR policy on the globe, so USA could continue to export there TSE tainted products. he knew that the bse gbr risk assessments would not have allowed USA to export. commodities, futures, mad cow disease and gws bse mrr policy makes a good recipe for one heck of a bowl of TSE. ...TSS
