Hello everyone I have not posted for some time but I read most days
I was trying to find the post about the oil worker checking a well in a field
that had a dangerous bull. From memory he was killed. He had been instructed to use a hotshot for protection
I was hoping to use this post as an example for my employee of what NOT to do, but Icould not find it.
I maintain that you should not fully trust any animal ever.
And hotshots should never be used in a field or pen.
Any comments will be gladly passed on. I don't want a tragerdy on my hands Thank you from an aussie in need of support

Hot shots are more of a problem that help. the peole that use them usually use them to get cattle down alley while working other than a semi truck driver. I know of no one that has one.

BTW run like heck to the pickup....Actually some of these bulls that were hand fed as calves when the see the pickup or the human when they run at ya they are thinking its time for that special treat of grain or cubes that they have been missing. Keep something in the pickup for those days.

I do remember reading about the guy with the hot shot getting killed. If there was a thread about it on ranchers.net, I missed it. I do remember this thread from the NAT livestock page:

I used to own such a dangerous bull years ago.I figured I could shmoose him a couple times a year - so what if he's a bad actor. An old landlord i had at the time advised me that the weekly salebarn sale was where ol crazy belonged. I took alot of advice from that old man including swapping off dangerous livestock. That pld man is lion passed bt my son knows much from him.
