LINCOLN - Quite a variety of words have been used to describe football recruiting at the Division I-A level.
The following, spoken by Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge High School coach Hal Wasson in reference to his star player's involvement with Nebraska, might be a new one: "It was just a good, good experience - a very healthy experience."
Healthy?
Fossil Ridge defensive tackle Chris Perry is set to sign with Nebraska in 18 days as part of a 29-player class that figures to rank in the top 10 to 15 nationally.
blah, blah, blah......
"We had a plan, and right now, we're executing it really well," Watson said. "A lot of things still can happen. And as you expect in recruiting, a lot of things will happen. We just feel real good about how we put this together from day one. It wasn't something that was thrown together."
..........
Count Wasson, the high school coach from Texas, among the impressed.
"Obviously all colleges are structured," he said, "but I was just very impressed with Nebraska. There's no arrogance about who they are. I think it's a first-class operation."
