I am looking for someone from Valentine. My ex sister in law is moving there with her husband. No we still dont get along LOLOLOL
With that said I am looking for a welcoming group or someone who could
help make the move easier on her. She has never been more than 100 miles from family and that was college for 2 years. I know all too well how hard it is moving across the country and having no one as a support or even to talk to.
They are leaving Wed not too sure when they will be there but I will give you their name in pm since I dont want to post it without her approving that.
Thanks for any help or info where to find the info.

This area is just lookin for an excuse to get together!! We'll make her feel welcome, or scare her plumb to death.

Thank yall for the offers I pm'd yall with her info.
Yeah I know it weird but its been placed on my heart to help so I am doing what I can.

I suspect, but haven't the experience, that leaving family is tough for many, but if she can be adaptable and open to enjoying people and places, Valentine is a beautiful little city with lots of nice, friendly people.I have experienced being home sick and it is the pits! I was in the hospital for a week or so, at age 37 and didn't have a clue why I was feeling so bad. The person in charge of mental health quizzed me a bit and said she was sure I was home sick, as I'd never been separated from family members in all my life for that long a time. My surgery had been successful and I was soon home again, but it still seems very weird to feel that badly when i always think of myself as needing time alone...but when I choose, I guess is what I didn't figure out on my own.

I say that from 120 or so miles distant, but have been to four weddings there for children of relatives (one on my husbands' side, three on mine) and various other reasons over many years, two in the Caholic Church, one on a ranch, and one in the Methodist Church, and all very pretty weddings. They have been 'productive' marriages, too, with five babies born over the past five years or so to the three families on my cousins' side of the family!

Have never personally taken advantage of the river or lake in the area, other than enjoying the scenery and that is beautiful, expect for this year with the terrible drought! Several from clear up here, near MO river resources, go there for canoeing and to Merrit Reservoir, but 'we' apparently are NOT water lovers, except as scenery

Sure hope she is too busy with the ranchers net folks in the area to get too homesick!
