wanted 73 to 87 GMC 4 wheel drive for a parts truck. Must be 3/4 ton.
The main thing I want are the complete axle assembles front and rear. Would prefer a dana 60 in the front but a corporate 10 bolt or dana 44 would do.
456 ratio is ideal but 411 would work.
Truck has to be reasonable close to southern Alberta.

Is this a parts truck? Im wondering what it would cost to ship the axles? What year is it and what model? If I knew that I would have half an idea what type of axles it had.

No the spring perches are different on the hind axle and the front independant set up wont work at all. Thats part of the reason for my old restoration project. I want a solid front axle.
Thanks anyway :)

Good thing nobody saw you backing home.................you might have to have done a roadside sobriety test.

Its not a parts truck. .......yet LOL only thing wrong when it got parked was the transmission would only go in reverse........yeap......try backing home 2 miles or so.....I did it.

Those trannies are cheap. I bought a rebuilt TH350 for mine for about $700. There easy to install.
Yours probable is a TH400 which is about the best auto transmission ever built. There hard to find around here but you could rebuild your old one. Or if its a 4 speed standard those are cheap and plentiful as well. Why not get it rebuilt?
Those were great old trucks!

Have plans for the 350.....rebuild and put in my 72 chevy stepside.....

oh and it's a 77 model, I failed to mention that. Just from what lil experience we have had with getting parts and stuff thru ebay, shippin is horrible if it's anything that weighs much.

Have you tried any swap meets in your area? Or wreckin yards? if all else fails that's where we usually find whatever strange piece of iron Mr Lilly is lookin for.

LOL yeah maybe if we lived somewhere there was actually "law" you might see a county officer once ever 6 months or so out our way. Most times they are lost

Have a crime problem out there? Every 6 months.. Wow, things must be outta control   I think in the 6 years we have been here I have seen 2 police cars. One when a body was found in a corn field (Old man died of a heart attack while driving and ended up in the neighbors field) and another one visiting with me about a stollen pair of dogs (I informed him I had enough dogs, I didn't need anymore).

There is an outfit in Kansas LMCTRUCK.com or 1-800(562)8782
I just got there new catalogue today. If you contact them they will send you a free copy of their catalogue as well.
They have just about everything for Chevy Trucks that you would ever need. Haha Everything except complete axle assembles!
I have contacted every wrecker in AB without any luck. I dont think there are any swap meets around here.
There is an outfit in UT called Boyce equipement that has what I need but its going to be expensive if I go through them. There stuff is new/rebuilt military surplus axles. Nice stuff but nice prices to. Then there is the shipping which im thinking is going to be really high :(
