Was proud of my Horse today

Had about 50 calves wander into the flood water today an most were on a levee but 10 were across a trackhoe ditch in the woods standing in water. Went an got my horse and made a circle around them and pushed them out. Was in knee deep an deeper water in the woods, stumpholes, logs an vines. He never got excited or anything. Just did his job an stayed calm. Only got one picture because I didn't want to hold the phone and him an keep limbs out of my face.

Question: It looks like you have your halter under your bridle. Do you
use that in order to safely tie him up? I can't think of another reason, so I
was curious. We never ride with a halter under our bridle.

Hi FH, the straps of the bridle are under the halter so it wont rub or interfere with it. Lots of people here keep them on to tie to. I have been leaving his off an he is getting the bad habit of trying to stay out of reach in the pen so he's bact to wearing it.

Here is a more appropriate way to tie a rope halter. This knot stays fastened more securely, and is easier to untie when you want it off.

Thanks Sope, when I first got that kind of halter I could tie it like it came but after I had it off for a while I forgot how.

this water goes thee ways and not to Texas

to the north via Salt River and Greys River to the Snake then the Columbia, to the south Via Labarge Creek, to the Green River to the Colorado River, and some runs into Salt Creek, and Smith fork to the Bear River to the Great Salt Lake

So that is where our water is. :wink:

Most of that water is from Ohio, Il, Ia and the area that had all the snow melt. We get water all the way from Mt and a few provinces in Canada.
