We also Trich tested the bulls that morning. A neighbor had it in his herd and as a preventative measure all the area people are testing all their bulls. It costs $16 bucks a bull but to prevent it from entering the cows it's cheap. This bull was watching the action in the arena seeing what the next bunch had to endure at the hands of the vet.

Poking and proding cattle down the chute.

All preg checked and watching the feed wagon go buy. The excitement for a few cows after being held up in the arena during weening.

Munching away their worries around the hayrack.

Good pics, that's a nice hay rack, did you guys put it together?

No my Dad bought it. It has wheels under it and can be pulled empty with a pickup and sat where ever one needs it. Filled the loader tractor can move it to where it is needed. Most of the time this one sits either in the corral or over in the bull pasture. They were really popular when I was younger and it seemed everyone had one. My Dad has another one that is way handier for round bales. I believe it holds 6 round bales side by side and is shorter. It also can be moved around with a pickup.

Very nice set up there CA. :D Seems to me all Nebraska Sandhill folks are kinda like my uncle with all that continuous fencing. :D Looks like you've got a real nice set-up and some real fine calves.

Nice calves, nice corrals, and nice little helper :D. We require all forest permittee's to trich test, but have one rancher who refuses, and insists his four-year old bulls are all virgin bulls  . It would be one heck of a wreck if it ever happened since there are many cattle and livelihoods involved.

How are your moving plans coming along? Did you decide snakes were worth living around???

I have looked at property after property and it seems there is something not quite right about each one. I guess I'm to the point I have a list of the most important aspects to me and one is school district and so that has led me looking in a new direction. I have also given into the idea that pretty much if a person is going to live in the cournty here there is going to be a chance of rattle snakes. I just may end up being one of those pistol packers that I have so ranted about.
