My first impression was that he looked good too. But I tend to not look 'em over hard enough. I'm thinking of breeding him to a blue cow.

The main story is that I know the girl whose dad who owns/co-owns this bull. :lol:
His is PURE Charolais. As far as I know, he was bred and raised by the Ritchey family who lives up near the Denver/Greeley area. They took him up to the Nat'l Western and Rambur Charolais bought interest in him. Ramburs are pretty reputable as far as the Chars go, and I would tend to respect their opinion on this bull very much.

Well, I'm might be breeding him to a blue cow. So if the calf turns out light blue, I won't be able to tell if the calf is freezing to death or not. :shock: :D
If the calf turns out white, You have a VERY good point.

You mean from left to right, correct? If so, I could agree with ya there. However, he is also pretty smooth shouldered and clean fronted for a bull.

I think he would look alot better if he had a little more length to him. He looks like he'll be a hard calver, because he's built like a brick (I won't say the rest). Just my opinion.

OK, I can certainly respect that. The cow I'd be looking to use him on wouldn't be short on length, though. (Little inside humor. Haha.) I certainly understand Chars being criticized for giving up calving ease. On the other hand, he is a pretty "easy calving" compared to his breed. Plus, my blue cow had an 85-90 pounder this spring, and she's going on calf #4.
 
Keep going folks! In particular, BMR, HAY MAKER, RobertMac, Sandhusker, and backhoeboogie I want your folks' opinion. Backhoe, I KNOW. He don't have ears.

He's a good looking bull, a little short coupled like Shelly said. I wouldn't use him because of his birth weight. My char bulls are of the Tradition & Perfect blood lines, they will throw 70 to 75 lb. birth weights consistently. I use them on my cows & heifers. Now I may be losing some weight on the weaning end, but cows that calve easy & on their own will get up and take care of those calves faster & breed back faster.
 
I don't care for him, one b/c he's a charolais (no offence to you char breeders on here). Second he's too showy in that pic (I'd rather see him in his workin' clothes), not as much masculinity as I'd like to see in a char, he's a bit too short, and the sheath could be improved a bit too.

But hey, that's just my opinion.
