And yes you do have to send in your original BC to get your passport. No 'certified or notarized' copies.
My boss just went through this.

Sure would make me a little uncomfortable to do that.
I don't trust the government with anything.

Yup Jiggers right you have to send in your original, and getting it back can take upwards of two months. And that's only IF they accept what you send in,I have a nurse friend that sent her and hubby's in and they rejected her hubby's cause they said there was a smudge on his birth certificate. We ended up going into Edmonton to Canada place and getting it done,as it was AMA didn't even take the pics right so we had to use the one in Canada place. Personally I'd go in and get it done instead of counting on the mail. I still have three Xmas cards I sent out that haven't arrived at their destination.

The talk is by July 1st we can't drive across the border without passports, you'll need to look into that Corey if your taking those boys across to the finals.

depends on the agent and the day, drivers license will work, but sometimes they want a BC too, our kids are too young for drivers so we alway take BC's. If the kids and I are going by ourselves, I alway write a letter and have it notarized that my husband knows where we are going and permission is given, I've had the border agents ask my kids if I'm really their Mom, and does Dad know where we're going! as if I'd take my kids if I were running away!!!!!!!!!!

This is the truth.

I got stopped way back when my 21 year old was just three years old. They put me in one room and my daughter in another and questioned us at length for an easy half hour.

Can you immagine how scared and upset a little three year old can be and just how close to getting arrested her Daddy was?
