What is it?

While puting supplement out last Friday, I came across a strange pile of something on the side of the road on the ranch. It looked like some sort of thick, red liquid had been dumped. On closer inspection I could see capsules throughout it. After kicking the pile up a little, the red stuff was just on top, underneath was a dry beige colored sandlike textured powder with the same capsules scattered through it.

The capsules had "meta" printed on them and I googled it and it seems that they might be Metamucil fiber capsules. I still can't figure out what the red stuff is or why this pile of stuff is there. There is a large pig farm about 1 mile away from this section of the ranch, but the pig farm is not accessed through our ranch. I don't know if this would have anything to do with it or not. The straw in the pictures is from recent reseeding operations from wind turbine construction. Again, I don't know if this would have anything to do with it or not.

It doesn't look like the cows have been interested in it at all. I am just puzzled as to what it is and why and how it ended up there.

Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know.....but I wouldnt' be comfortable with that layin beside the road like that if it were anywhere near my place. Maybe call the sheriff's department and let them know, maybe they can send someone out to clean it up. Or refer you to a county office that can???

First thing that popped into my head is meth lab dump.
Definately call local law enforcement.
I wouldn't touch it until you know for sure what it is.
