Leanin H, that surely was an awesome tribute to a fine man! He was the kind of person from whom most of us could learn much about how to live, and my guess is that the lessons were the most effective kind that are learned through fun and kind example.
He must have been a great guy to work with. Those who have such a good sense of humor along with their principles and work ethic seem to make work more fun and even the worst jobs (leeches are one of few critters that give me the 'heebie-jeebies'!) more tolerable.
I've started reading obituaries of older people that I don't even know, when they are in the ag related papers, as they seem to have such good character and have led very interesting lives. Some of those folks, both men and women, have lots of the qualities of your friend and must have been very interesting people to know. They probably considered they lived just ordinary lives, but they sure left some big 'foot prints' on this earth!
You have my sympathy in your loss of a wonderful friend. May your memories keep his spirit with you till you see him again!
