Ha ha ha i got a good laugh out of it it might ruffle some feathers but you still gotta laugh . Its too funny you all know were i stand on guys from different states and such but some of these arizona guys get a little wound up ha ha .
here ya go

Arizona - Texas

In Texas they have sand

In Arizona they have rocks , yes we know you taco hatters might not know what a rock is but if you ever come on over we will be glad to show you some

In Texas they ride along all day and stare at their shadow wondering how punchy they look

In Arizona we watch Texans cut the drive off and not gather any cattle

In Texas they tie off ALL the time in the corral - outside - in bed ,were ever

In Arizona we know how to rope without hurting ourselves or loosing our ropes

In Texas they ride slick horn saddles , wich makes you one step closer to a buckaroo

In Arizona we dont like buckaroos

In Texas they have the cap rock that they think is rough

In Arizona we call it cow country

In Texas when they have trouble gatherin cattle they use a cake wagon with a sirene on it

In Arizona you cant drive thru our country ( remember the rocks we talked about )

In Texas they call rollin hills mountains

In Arizona we call them speed bumps

In Texas they have more cowboys than they have cows

In Arizona we have cowpunchers and dudes ( texas just hasnt learned to seperate the two ) unlike texas Arizona wont work the dudes unless they come from texas claiming to be cowpunchers

In Texas they idolize Ty Murray

In Arizona we dont idolize gunsels

In Texas you can trot accross a ranch in one day

Someplaces in Arizona you cant trot accross our horse pasture in a day

Ok does everyone know why Texans wear taco hats ??? Well here is why , its so when they get bucked off they can reach up pull the brim of that taco hat down flat and float back to earth like marry poppins .

There might be another reason as also , its so when they are leaving Arizona cause they are scared of the rough country they are more aerodynamic and can get back to the flat country faster .

Ooooo, you are goin' to catch so much crap over this posting.

But it's still funny.

By the way, you might not want to visit Texas for a spell.

Too funny, cowpuncher........and now y'all know why George Phippen called us "Arizona Rockhoppers".

HA!

HA!

HA!

I've been around more than a couple of Texans, I can sure "relate".

All I can say about this is.......whoever wrote that...needs to come visit Texas and see just how diverse it really is. Our country....sand, hills, mountains, deserts, forests, plains, prairies. We got it all. All of it's Cow country. But most people only see what's on Western movies depicting Texas as flat desert with blowin sand and Tumbleweeds. :?

Anyone that has been to arizona knows the differnce is like comparing nite to day.
I was through arizona once, all I ever saw was rocks, lizards and some of the ugliest folks in my life, scrawny ole dessert scrubs called cattle.
Hot footed it back to Texas where the women are beautiful, cattle are fat on good grass and a man can find a little entertainment in a Texas honky tonk :D ...................good luck

Texans in Heaven

Gabriel came to the Lord and said " I have to talk to you. We have some

Texans up here in Heaven who are causing problems. They're swinging on

the pearly gates, my horn is missing, barbecue sauce is all over their

robes, their dogs are riding in the chariots, and they're wearing

baseball caps and cowboy hats instead of their halos. They refuse to

keep the stairway to Heaven clean. There are watermelon seeds and pig

feet bones all over the place. Some of them are walking around with just one wing."

The Lord said, "I made them special, Gabriel. Heaven is Home to all my

children. If you really want to know about real problems, let's call the Devil."

The Devil answered the phone, " Hello? Damn, hold on a minute."

The Devil returned to the phone, "O.K., I'm back. What can I do for you?"

The Lord replied, "I just want to know what kind of problems you're having down there."

The Devil said, "Hold on again. I need to check on something."

After about 5 minutes the Devil returned to the phone and said, "I'm

back. Now what was the question?"

The Lord said, "What kind of problems are you having down there?"

The Devil said, "Man, I don't believe this....Hold on, Lord."

This time the Devil was gone 15 minutes. The Devil returned and said ,

"I'm sorry Lord, I can't talk right now. Them damn Texans done put out

the fire and are trying to install air conditioning." :D :D :D
good luck

Ha ha ha i knew that would ruffle some texas feathers . The ole boy that wrote that worked for tom moorehouse for a while and the waggoner ranch , the 6's i think he even did a little stint at the touge river ranch . We just get a bad impresion of texans when they show up here in arizona cause we usually end up with the ones that cnat find jobs in texas and they dont last but a few weeks here and then they are gone again . It takes alot for folks to get used to workin in this rough country were on the works you ride 3 horses a day lotsof places still wean their calves outside in a holdup without the use of a corral and drive the weaner calves to the shippin corrals , so you gotta be on top of your game ya know , and most of the branding on them big outfits are done outside without a a corral , so its still pretty old fashioned here and most guys are not used to that kind of work thats why outside folks that come here to work usually dont stay long cause they are not used to workin like that without corrals and planes and helicopters . But i have to say we have some texans here that stuck it out and made hands and they say they wouldnt go back to texas until thelast cow was gone out of arizona . Its just the difference in country ya know . Hay maker what part of Arizona did you drive thru ?

Well we will have a few open spots for some guys on the fall wagon if you wanna come see if you can follow us around in the rocks Hooks . I cant say as i know anyone that is retired that would wanna work in this country for the rest of their retirement ha ha unless he is a glutton for punishment .

But yeah you get down around phoenix and try to drive you are better off walkin some of those old folks down there are 90 and cant see cant hear and damn sure cant drive , sun city is the worst of all you stay way away from there ha ha .

Just wonderin', what would the pay be?

Do you pull a wagon? Pack with mules? ride out from camps?

Ross Santee wrote some real good books about that country, as did Stella, when she wrote down Mack Huges, stories. That "Hashknife Cowboy" book is sure a good one. Wish she would write more of Mack's stories.

We have a one ton truck we use as a chuck wagon now instead of a bed its got chuck boxes on it and we just stay at the camps and live out of our teepes . There is one place here in Az that they stil have to pack their outfitt in on mules and horses to get to were you wanna work , but no one pulls a wagon with horses any more here that i know of anyway , and wer eyou cant get with a pickup you pack your stuff in by mule or horses . Most places here still have a horse wrangler and thats his only job is to wrangle and day herd the remuda . The pay would probly be about a 1000 a month plus food horses and such , gotta shoe your own but the of course provide the shoes . It would be anywere from 1 month to 2 1/2 months . Yeah ross santee i like reading those books , things really havent changed all that much from when he wrote those books . Yeah mack hughs was a hell of a hand thats for sure wild cow catchin booger well wild anything catching booger ha ha .

LOL I do have to say there are some beautiful places in Az I love the rocks LOL thats the place shoer was going to hmm get rid of my camera ...oh well :?
LOVED Tombstone guess it runs in the family. Still can feel the courthouse and hear the voices of my uncles.
After traveling over much of Texas I do have to say one of my favorite places is the south fork of the red river ....rolling hills, slow river, lots of trees. BUT, ok going to catch grief but I do have to say Ks is Beautiful. Lots of green grass and trees, and lakes and rivers and I did see a sign saying Texans send their cattle to Ks to get fat ;)

LOL sounds like our Terlingua and Lajita area. But there is beautiful scenery down there. Just not many folks choose to LIVE there. Populations of Lajitas is like 48 people, Terlingua has maybe tripel that.
Lajitas in spanish translates to "little flat rocks"

I used to have a place in southern arizona and got run off by all the california people coming in - these folks apparently were trying to escape the political mess in california so were all moving to arizona. . . i figured it was just a matter of time that they would turn the great state of arizona into a step child of california. . . so we bought a ranch in texas. . . .i think we are safe here. . . . our cows are fat, happy and producing great calves. . . doesn't get much better than that. . . .
