We are experiencing a WIND EVENT. WOW!! It started yesterday afternoon at about 45 mph with snow and is to continue til
5 pm today. There is no snow today and we didn't get a lot of snow yesterday, but it caused ground blizzard conditions on the highways. It is now 29 degrees with a 39 mph wind!! YIKES!

We have had enough spring this winter. We need snow in the mountains. Keep your warm weather over on the coast but send us some moisture

Tonight it is 20 degrees with a 40 mph wind. No kidding. That's about 20 degrees below zero wind chill.

We had a couple tenths of moisture 10 days ago,but the wind blew the next day and that bit was gone.The Winter wheat is starting to dying.Another front came thru 2 days ago and yesterday from 12 to 3 in the afternoon the wind was 50mph.Gust I figure were 65.

Ditto!!! Staying around 35F here with stagnant air. A mist can be felt in the air and gentle rains about 3 days a week. No wind for a while which is good because the wind dries out this desert sandy loam quickly. A 16" sharpshooter shovel slice, reveals moisture all the way down to 16". Grass is still green and so far no snow or ice. Despite the cold damp air, I still have my daily bowl of Tillamook ice cream.

My indoor barometer usually shows about 15% this time of year. So far in the last few months, it hasn't dropped below 50%. Today it is on 65% with electric house heat at 70. No dry skin this winter, so there is good in everything. I usually keep my house temp at 68, but that feels cool this winter, even wearing my ski thermal top.

Windy yesterday. Got to the stackyard back tire low on the JD, back to the shop get it blown up. Cows fed right behind the wind break. un down to Kreuter's to check on NH tractor. unwrap a little twizzler from the cany bowl. Dang Crown pops off. Rush home call Jackson Dental in Belle. They said show up we will work you in. Oh the wind pushed the Terrain side to side one spot on 90 a ground blizzard for a mile, a sleeping semi at Mosky exit. Get crown cemented back down and head for Gillette. On 90 east of Moorcroft there a Semi , Walmart trailer , the wind from the north keeps lifting the right back wheels of the trailer of the road. We stay back fall a few miles to Moorcroft exit. Fill up and take the secondary highway into Gillette. We get a few things, Sue buy 3 big helium balloons. We go to the Prime Rib and wait for Tenny , Donny and grandkids. We get our seat and I had to move the ballons from my chair to Woodrow , who was next too me. Jody and Alia both had steaks, Tenny, Donny ordered, Sue and I had the big dry aged ribeye for 2, Woodrow got a plate and got something from about everybody. Entertainment was Sue and Donny wrestling over the bill, Finally told Sue to back off. Last night made it a great birthday, with kids and grandkids and my bride!!!

I shouldn't send this, but this is how the Oregon Coast looked yesterday and to day.
Not typical January weather. This is the type of weather that usually came along in February
or March, after really stormy weather, and would create concerns about lambs getting pneumonia.

There simply isn't anything to send over the Cascades to Dave or anyone else.

The Portland news last night said there was 70+ mph winds in the Columbia Gorge. They had some film of the weather girl standing in it. Sure looked like it was blowing.

Now a very slight movement out of the southwest.Nearly calm.28 degrees.Weather girl missed it by 7 degrees.if she was aiming for food she would starve to death.She was calling for 21.

Fog moved in last night. Still foggy this morning. Temperature dropped about 20 degrees. No wind.
