Just a reminder that the commie instigated, devil indorsed, unnecessary and aggravating time change is upon us this Sunday. I am hanging in there, frayed rope and all, and hope all y'all are at least fair to middlin, and only mildly worse for the wear.

Reposting my story, first seen in print, last fall. Warning this story may be offensive to the squeamish.

It all seems donkey backwards to me! Shouldn't the extra daylight hour be starting in the winter?

The geniuses that started this nonsense, certainly weren't ranchers or farmers. Try explaining the hour difference to the cows lined up for morning hay after the rooster crows the same time as the day before, while rancher Faye is trying to adjust to the change so other elements of life that depend on the clock, can be timely.

On more than one spring Sunday dinner, I had chicken and dumplings. It was a hassle getting out the pressure cooker, but no one promised that ranch life would be easy. Rojo Red, made his final mistake by inciting the cows to bellow, goats to scream bloody murder, barn cats to break out in an off key chorus, and the dogs barking for no reason. Crow if he wants, but inciting rebellion, insurrection, and creating chaos, was inexcusable.

I simply don't care about what the clock says. I go to bed at 10 (it is dark). I get up at 5:00 (it is dark too). I go out and start doing chores when it gets light. When it starts to get dark I come in. I have more issues with the time difference between here and Ontario. It is only 50 miles away. I am on Pacific time and they are on Mountain time. Businesses opening, appointment, etc are always an hour difference 365 days of the year. Not just 2 clock changes.
The one pickup it is difficult to change the clock. So it has been on Mountain time all winter. Next week it will be on daylight saving time.

Yep, the Ontario time difference can be a problem if one doesn't pay attention. I always put up notes that my doctor appointments there, were an hour earlier. I was always on time or early.

That would get me in trouble. I would/could never figure it out correctly.

I realize whenever they drew the time zone lines that Ontario was more closely associated with Boise so Malhuer county is Mountain time. Northern Idaho was more related to Spokane so every thing north of the Salmon River is Pacific time. Strange how they drew the lines. I have only been late a couple of times but when going to scheduled events.
