Thanks, much appreciated
I wish I could of been there for those heifers at those prices. I worked for Kelly and Travis Olson at Ole a couple of years back. Just waiting to get a chance to go back to one of their sales. Really liked both their red and black cattle
Thanks everyone for the advice, the reason were looking at Blue Grass is because our neighbor (charolais/simmental breeder) has a pile of his semen sitting around at his place. Both my father and I really like the looks of the LT bulls and the few females that we've seen around. We don't want to...
Hi folks,
My father and I are looking at changing up our breeding program for our angus herd a bit this year. We run about 325 cows together with most of them being solid black and maybe 30 or so being red angus cows. about half the herd are the kind of cows that we both like. moderate, easy...
Burnt, Our feedlots only about 2 hours from that corn heist and a lot of people are saying that its an "inside job". Thinking maybe they're trying to cover up for a bad contract deal they made. Quite a few rumors are going around about what really happened.
I believe people forget/get worked over for beef that is Grass Fed, not grass finished... I've seen cull cows sold in the fall as grass fed hamburger, just because they've been on grass all summer. Not saying this happens everywhere but in all your experiences' what is a well finished grass fed...
Nice calves, certainly a lot of muscle and depth to them, I sure wouldn't mind feeding out a couple hundred of those little buggers! I'd sure like to see some picture of them at weaning time

1-What is your background?
Grew up on my father's farm. He owned 100 plus/minus Standerbred race horses and raced horses in Montreal, Toronto, New York and New Jersey the whole time...
A twin bull won't throw more twins than the breed average, but his daughters will. Thats where you have to be careful (if your worried about it)
And I didn't know NR well, I'm recent to Ranchers but he passed away this last week. The few discussions I had with him sure were good ones though...
Seems the last two years all the cash croppers in the area where walking around with big goofy grins, and this year it's the cattlemen walking around with the same goofy grins.
I sent 6 yearling cull bulls (Red Angus) that weren't turning out to the sale barn, and they brought in $1725/head. I...
I'm sure there's quite a few pig farmers waiting to meet educated beef farmers to. I'm sure even you'd learn something from this lad haha. He probably could help me with my spelling as much as he could help you with your punctuation :D
One lesson I never did pick up was to re-read my texts...
