    Howdy from Texas

"some Texas liberal animal activist that brought them here many years ago." I fail to find any evidence for that assertion. "they were introduced to Oregon as pets between 1910 and 1921." is the official story. I would be interested in any personal knowledge you may have.

    Rattlesnake!!!

We certainly have our share of rattlesnakes here 60 miles west of Fort Worth. If they are near the house or barn we kill them, but out in the pastures and woods we leave them alone.

    Sunflower's Wedding, August 26, 2017, Part Two

Wow! I had been wondering about Sunflower ever since she left for art school (I believe it was). Anyway, I'm tickled for her and the whole family.

    Head wear?

I have always used a bandana wrapped around the back of my head, with a ball cap holding it in place.

    Looking at buying a UTV

We have an old Kawasaki mule, two wheel drive, and it will go anyplace I'm brave enough to point it. It's the most used piece of equipment in our inventory.

    ATV question

We have an ancient Honda, other than occasional oil changes, the only maintenance done is to replace the starter once. The most useful tool on our place is the Kawasaki Mule. It will go anywhere I'm brave enough to point it, with room for a few chain saws, fence repair tools and materials, a 22...

    Texas Rain

We got 6". The tank (pond) we had just reworked filled 2/3 full. Some rain makes you feel pretty smart, sometimes.

    Favorite utility vehicle

We have an old Kawasaki Mule, and I can't imagine being without it. We keep a chain saw, ladder, assorted hand tools, a shotgun and 22, some wire for fence repairs, and an ice chest for drinks in it all the time. It has never failed to go anyplace I'm not too chicken to try, and never gotten...
