    wild snotty cows

Our cattle here are broke to every thing under the sun. Pick-up being a horse back on foot and even one of those 4- wheelers. The heifers I'm calving right now don't care much for the 4-wheeler a little spookey with it, don't like to use it anyway in calving.but you can walk thru them or go a...

    Tagging Calves

We tag are calves at birth. Go thru them a horseback, got a few crazy ones but not to bad. We number the calf tag the same as the cows, makes it easier to pair out. Also we tag the heifers calves with a white tag and the bulls calves with a blue tag. Makes it easier to sort when we wean.About...

    Casteration Method and Age

We cut with a knife at branding like Soapweed said, no matter how big they are. I'm not a big fan of banding, alot of folks do it. My reason is this ,just one persons mistake. And everyone that does should know to do it right, but one time we got a load of wheat pasture calves that had been...

    remembering when.....

I do agree, guess you would call them the good ole days. When I was a kid we played outside when the weather was good. Didn't worry about TV, we spent time building forts in the banks by the creek or having gord fights( the little green gords that grow on the vine in the south). At the brandings...

    Beefmasters

A man I used to cowboy for . Had beefmaster bulls, put them on his angus cows. Didn't have any calving problems they had them on the run. The calves grain good, he ran them on wheat pasture. The only draw back was he had to rebuild his correls, the calves was a little wild when we work them in...

    Todays odds'n'ends

Nice pics, calves look good and stout and thick. Really like the mineral feeders, I'll have to try that. Do the cattle rub on them or do they pretty much leave them alone. I bet the pony's the boss of the herd!

I'm exited , he's a good hand at what ever he does. Its good when you don't have to tell them alot they know what...

Things a Mother Would Never Say

That rooms a mess: but don't worry about any one stealing anything, They would break their neck trying to get thru it. Our daughter is always asking when she can date. I tell her not until your out of high school and if you do you got to take your brother. And he has to go with you and sit in...
