    self darkening welding helmets

Another idle question. How do you all keep the helmet window from frosting/fogging up in real cold weather. I take the wife's hair dryer and let it run on low when the helmet if off. Works well, but can cause friction if it isn't kept clean. Oldgoat

Hypo, Can You Watch and Get Back to Me?

Tex wrote: Tex, the taxation of capital gains at a lower rate has a good justification. If you purchased a capital asset for $1000 twenty-five years ago and sold it today for $2000, you would get dinged for $150 in capital gains tax even though you suffered a real loss of more than half of...

I think there is a lot of truth here....

Just another attempt to foment class warfare. WW is so right - The US is so buried in debt at the personal, local government, state and federal level that any hope of extricating ourselves is a false hope, Even if we ignore the unrecorded debt of social security, medicare, medicaid. And of...

Flourescent light is dangerous.. I worked in offices lit by flourescent light and after 30 years, most of my hair fell out. Got some teeth missing and arthritis. Must have been the lights because I am only 74 years old. :D :D

    About Those Oil Subsidies

Tex, I do not profess to be a tax accountant now, but I was a tax compliance manager for many years. I learned the tax law. But I also learned that trying to teach outsiders was a waste of time - and I don't have enough time left to waste. OG

    About Those Oil Subsidies

Tex wrote: For crying out loud, Tex, go read the doggone law. Integrated oil companies haven't had depletion since the early 1980s. If you can't comprehend the law, quit preaching on it. Do you even know what intangible drilling cost are? Granted that the tax treatment oif IDC is...

    small square bales

More years ago than I like to remember, we did all of our haying by hand with one team of horses. We mowed with a five-foot sickle mower, raked with a 12-foot dump rake and stacked with two guys with pitchforks onto a hayrack. Then it was off to the stackyard where the hay was stacked again by...
