    You can get what they call a hot knife. They sell them at Camack Ranch supply. It basically just melts the twine right off. It works great on plastic but if you have a combo of plastic and sisal you will get some flair ups.

    I think you misred the analysis. It is 20.59% protein and a TDN of 93.64%. At the rate of about 9 lbs of dry matter that denny is feeding I would sure think it would reduce the amount of hay needed a fair amount.

    how long will that stuff take to cure out? We use 16' and 18' MoCos and it would take atleast a week to cure out that cane.

    Thats a lot of wood. How far apart is the top board from the top bottom? I built a feeder like that out of gaurdrail and sucker rod and I think my sucker rod may be too far above the gaurd rail.

    I don't think that a big rear end is a sign of not being maternal, there are blood lines that are very heavy muscled and still make very good fertile cows. It is just like every other trait that we select for, the more traits you selcet for the lower your standards have to be for the other...
