Happy go check with your farming family about the price of the inputs to put a crop in the ground this year  There are a lot of people in my neck of the woods that are just hoping to survive the year!!! You better have some good luck to reap the benifit of the high prices.

    Tony Dean apologizes?

The open fields doctrine is not a problem by itself! When you have a game and fish that is a problem there is no way to keep them in check. As in most things it is the head's of game and fish that set the tone of there policy and if they have an agenda ,it will show in there enforcement.

    Tony Dean apologizes?

Publichunter why do you have a need for change but you would deny the change to the landowners? Sounds to me like some of the landowners are happy to just keep the hunters off of there property and that ends there problems with the state. If I were a hunter looking to hunt private land this...

    Tony Dean apologizes?

THERE LAND is the key phrase. If they donot want you on it what do you have to complain about. Would the average hunter let the public at large have the free use of there lawn and garden whenever they care to?

    Tony Dean apologizes?

P Joe you and your friends have a good chance for policy change. Call and write to your elected reps. till they are sick of it and encourage everyone of your friends to do the same. You can complain all you want but you have to be proactive to change things. If hunters and sportsmen were half as...

For everyone NOT from South Dakota.

Mrs Greg there used to be a lot of the same thing done in my country. The prob. was the sickness spreading from pen raised critters to the wild population  Sportsmen put a lot of time and money into wildlife and we try to get the most result for the time and money invested. We have in...

P Joe sounds like you have a game farm with all of those pen raised chicks. Our DNR people would lock you up for a stunt like that in Il. Habitat is what it takes for a game population. if you just like the numbers game, turn those birds loose in your yard and shoot them all :? Did you stock...

About all is a very big term. Could I hunt gophers in the road ditch? How about wild turkey or deer? How much road hunting do you do east of the river? Why are you woried about me since I pick up gum wrapers and water bottles like a good hunter! Does the state stock the ditches for you if to...

Do the 2 of you just shoot pheasants out of the car window  I was led to believe that SD had a lot of game other than pheasant. Yes I have been to SD since my Mother in law was born just north of wall. Now would you care to tell me where you live so I can come shoot chipmunks in your...

For everyone NOT from South Dakota.

Happy come to my state or most others and you will find that there is life without hunting road ditches. I can see where this would cause a lot of strife with the retrival of game. It would be like hunting squirells from the sidewalks in town with no control from the homeowners 8) :shock...

I can see with that kind of attitude why you have to hunt the road ditches

Doug thanks for the invite. If gas was not so high and time so short I would take you up on it!! I guess turkey season will be enough to hold me till fall. As far as the road hunting goes it is beyond me why anyone would even be interested in it. Here it will get you a ticket for even thinking...

We are told to but out of the SD threads but I guess that is diferant  I guess I will just hunt some Illinois turkeys this month and dream of better things. Maybe I can save enough gas money by fall to try some of that SD pheasant hunting in the road ditches. :P

You were the one that gave the 2 famous words like Big Muddy was going to be gobled up by the Turner empire. Do not implly that I am the dumb one when you are the poster of the famous ''2 words''. Even the people from Montana are aware that there is not much chance for Big Muddy having Ted next...

Seems to me it was you were the one that posted your ''2 words'' like it was a ''fact'' that poor old Big Muddy was in the dark about. If you don't like your own statements used just don't make them :tiphat:

For everyone NOT from South Dakota.

Are you saying Ted Turner has been buying land in Big Muddy's area and he is not aware  You must be on top of things when you are aware of the sales before the people next door are. Maybe we could just have a bit of chronic wasting some bluetounge and a little avian flu thrown in if you...

Was only a matter of time

Very simple if you want to have control over the land you hunt buy enough hunting ground to satisfy your hunting needs. You have one vote that is thelaw of the land, if you want more people to vote your way you need to buy(campaign) voes, it is really very simple. By the way you said I was...
