So far we haven't had the problem with Rich people buying up large blocks and idling the land. And if they did it it probably would be with some government money thrown in the pot.

2 words for you

TED TURNER

Are you saying Ted Turner has been buying land in Big Muddy's area and he is not aware  You must be on top of things when you are aware of the sales before the people next door are. Maybe we could just have a bit of chronic wasting some bluetounge and a little avian flu thrown in if you want to play what if.

Big Muddy's part of the country won't even allow Americans (foreigners) buy agriculture type land in their protectionist ways to keep producer costs down   :(

Boy you must be dummer than I take you for.

You honestly think that if Canada, or the US opened up all the BLM land for public auction, some daddy/mommy warbucks wouldn't end up with a chunk of 10,000 acres???

Glad you guys did let this thread die while I was gone today.

So OT Is it a bad thing that we don't let foreigners not buy up Saskatchewan? You complain about them all the time down your way.

I guess it depends on which side of the border your on- and whether your the one wanting to purchase the land or the one wanting to keep free market competition out to keep the production costs cheaper....Just one more rung of a FREE trade agreement that never was meant to be FAIR for all parties involved... :(

You were the one that gave the 2 famous words like Big Muddy was going to be gobled up by the Turner empire. Do not implly that I am the dumb one when you are the poster of the famous ''2 words''. Even the people from Montana are aware that there is not much chance for Big Muddy having Ted next door. Maybe you should stay on the SD thread you could have more luck

Hey BMR, isn't it strange that people just can not follow the instructions on the box?

As in the title of this thread. :P

Yea I guess hunters in South Dakota really can't stay out of areas where they are told not to go. :-)

We are told to but out of the SD threads but I guess that is diferant  I guess I will just hunt some Illinois turkeys this month and dream of better things. Maybe I can save enough gas money by fall to try some of that SD pheasant hunting in the road ditches. :P

Give me a call. Anyone who is against roadhunting and the general SDhunter/ PJoe/ Happy attitude might be able to hunt pheasants on my place.

Doug thanks for the invite. If gas was not so high and time so short I would take you up on it!! I guess turkey season will be enough to hold me till fall. As far as the road hunting goes it is beyond me why anyone would even be interested in it. Here it will get you a ticket for even thinking about it

Doug it is to bad you hold such disregaurd for SD hunters and the tradition of road hunting. It just shows the type of shallow person you are...I for one am very glad that the GF&P cancelled your walk in lands contract, I can see why with your type of attitude.
I am sure you treat your land and cattle the same way.. graze it to dirt....

I can see with that kind of attitude why you have to hunt the road ditches

:gag: tradition of road hunting

I didn't realize it was a tradition not to get off you lazy arse and actually walk when you hunted. so that would make it legal to discharge firearms on the road allowances?? I guess I am happy to live here.

Me too!And also any hunter that fights a landowner posting "walk traffic only" like we do,doesn't deserve access to our land. I've always thought us ranchers need to pack up our tents, firepit{oh heck we'll just dig one},cut a couple apple trees for our firepit and go set up a weekend camp in the backyards of some of these crappy hunters. We can hunt ants, maybe a couple worms :D
