    Time for a new trailer

I've had a Merritt for 9 years. It's hauled a lot of cows on a lot of rough washboard roads. The only thing I've replaced are hub caps. It's been a dandy. Will get another when and if this one wears out.

Replacing floor in a stock trailer

Mighty good information here. Correct me if I'm wrong if I decide to go with the rumber, I will have to weld more support across the trailer? If that's the case I'll just go back to lumber. I'd like to just tear the old lumber out and replace without a bunch of other work. And Denny I may take...

Replacing floor in a stock trailer

Did you install it? Or do most newer trailers just come with the floor? I'll have to try and find some. This is my trailer I beat up a bit. Lots of cows roped and dragged in it. Just don't want to have to replace the floor again before the trailer itself has had it. Thanks for the input all.

Replacing floor in a stock trailer

I've got an older S&H trailer 7X16. Need to change the floor out. I was wondering if anyone has used the lifetime rubber plastic boards. Any thoughts on using them vs. just replacing with lumber. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

    Stock trailers

I bought a 20 ft. Merritt 4 years ago. I didn't think it would hold up on all these rough dirt roads. But am pleased with it, it has held up well.

    Discbine

No. Get a Hesston or a MacDon. I don't like anything New Holland makes that cuts anything.

Any thought on a John Deere 5100E?

I have a 6415 and it's a good tractor. If I were you I'd get a 6000 series to. I think you would be happier. A lot of times state road departments trade them every year and you can get good deals on them.

    Flatbed and Cake Feeder

I have a Highway Products aluminum flat bed that I like a lot. The Bradford's are real nice and priced pretty reasonable. Bradford just came out with their aluminum bed and it looks nice and built well. I didn't think I would care for an aluminum flatbed. But mine is still tight and no rattles...

    Skid Steers

Definitely get tracks. It's the best way to go for work like you described.

What is the primary truck brand on your operation?

I have a 95 dodge cummins with 489,000 miles. Still runs good. Have a 04 dodge cummins that has 200,000 miles and hasn't been unhooked from a gooseneck or seen an oiled road yet. I've had fords but their diesels are junk. Good pickups junk motors. You can't beat a Cummins.

Thanks for your input PPRM. I appreciate it. If you don't mind I might call on you again. I'll get this up and running and hopefully show some pictures to see what you think. Thanks again.

    Used hydraulic chute

I bet it hasn't had 50 head run through it. It does have a cut out gate right in the tub and another on one of the alley panels (heavy son of a gun). I see what you mean by letting them see a bit more. I sure like putting in stuff like this. There is nothing better than working cattle in good...

    Used hydraulic chute

I see what you mean. I came across a older powder river tub and alley fully sheeted. I believe it was the system before the system 2000. Came with catwalks and the works. I believe it will be a good set up. I'm forming up for cement tomorrow. I'm definitely putting the chute and alley on cement...

Before getting to the chute you mean like my alleyway and tub?

    Used hydraulic chute

I found out a little about the chute. It is made in Red Deer Alberta. Reg Cox makes feed mixers as well. It's in better shape than I thought it would be no noisier than my Bowman. I like the fact the head catch is spring loaded.

    Used hydraulic chute

I thought they were in Oklahoma as well but the guy says it was made in Canada that's one reason I brought this up. I just wasn't sure but for 2500.00 I probably can't go to much wrong. If I was smart enough to run this ipad I could get a picture of it. I'll try. I don't know how.

    Used hydraulic chute

Thank you I have never heard of them and can't find anything on the web. So I wasn't sure probably will buy it.
