    A lack of comprehension

Love your dogs, BTW. I used to have a grey German Shepherd almost identical to your pup. He was no guard dog though. LOL We did pull the wolf trick on a few people though, and I used to have people cross the street when I walked him at night. This is what I have now. She's our security...

    Rain

We've got some extra we could spare. This is what south western Manitoba looks like today. We escaped the worst of it, only got three inches or so, but south and west of us it's ugly. http://www.brandonsun.com/multimedia/pov/265265751.html

    Question

It's been about 10 years, since we had one of those, but I remember one in particular that was almost two weeks old before the light came on. However, the light always does come on. Persevere. Calves are worth money now. Just don't keep it for a cow. There are too many bright ones around to...

    Herniated Navel

add... maybe call your vet in the morning and tell them what happened. The calf will definitely need antibiotics, and maybe your vet can reinforce the stitches. It was a good thing to get it back in quickly, BTW. That makes all the difference

    Herniated Navel

I used to work at a vet clinic and we got one or two a year. Fixing it can be done, if it's not too bad, and the calf gets to the clinic right away, but it really takes more than can be done at home. We used to anesthetize them, put them on their backs, prepped and cleaned up, make an...

    Record Keeping

Ranch Manager works on an Iphone and Ipad, but it needs internet as well to upload the data.

    Record Keeping

Ranch Manager. Got a new ipad mini for Christmas and put it in a super strong case so it can ride on the quad during calving. It's nice to have the information with you sometimes.

    Scotch Caps

Squint Eastwood.. ha ha ha good one! I've got those newfangled fancy specs that go dark in the sun all by themselves. 8) :) :) :) As Hubby would say, self-go SOB's. I haven't made any headbands, but they're pretty easy to do. Should try it.

That's what the sunglasses are for. 8)

    Scotch Caps

No caps on this operation. Only toques. I spin wool, so we all wear the real thing in the winter. I knit the ones Broke Cowboy calls a military cap. You can't compete with real wool. I made Hubby a big heavy handspun sweater too, and he can't even wear it unless it's really cold out...

Stay safe! And have a very Merry Christmas!

    Burnt's ice storm.

This is what leads to a winter of twine removal nightmares at chore time. Around here we can't count on a warm day to melt that ice until maybe April. How did you fare during the storm, burnt? Did you keep your power on? My cousins in London haven't complained on facebook, but...

    Eighteen below zero

Never should have checked the weather this morning. Minus 38, with a minus 50 C. windchill. Better off not to know that. The poor old Deutz wouldn't even turn over. I think the oil turned into molasses. And the craziest thing is that by morning it will be minus 12. :roll...

Hey! Diversify our income! Maybe we should run out to the back 40 with tape recorders..

    bigfoots

Is it Bigfoots, or Bigfeet? I hear the bulls, but I don't hear the donkeys. I think I would recognize the donkeys because I've got one that's a real loudmouth. ha ha ha

    No music so sweet . . .

Good news! My cousin near London posted pictures on Facebook of their downpour. If you got anything close to what they got, you'll be doing a dance. :D We've had a couple of those "just in time" rains now. So far it's kept things moving along. We're very grateful for every bit of it.
