Thin slice the breats and season well with Tony's. Roll in four and fry....don't overcook. Serve with your favorite adult beverage. :D

    Sage Grouse initiative

Hungarian Partridge is indeed the bird. Fairly small from what I recall, at least compared to the Sharpstails. My brother and I drove up there for a number of years deer hunting. Fun while it lasted but I was always ready to get away from that white mud. :D

We are not ready for this!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, the long range forecast (6 months) is for highs in the mid 80's and lows in the mid 60's. :D

    Sage Grouse initiative

Interesting. And when I asked about the restrictions on hunting, I actually had the Prairie Chicken in mind. I did some grouse hunting in Manitoba when I used to go up there to deer hunt every year and really enjoyed it. Shot both Ruffed Grouse and Spruce Grouse back in the bush and harvested...

That is one beautiful bird. Is the Sage Grouse completely protected now or is there some hunting still allowed?

I know if I saw OT in a cage I'd have an overwhelming urge to poke him with a stick. :D

    Can someone splain me something?

At the time I'm preparing my seedbed, moisture usually isn't a problem as I'm plowing as the rainy season begins. And yes, I broadcast my seed because that's the equipment I have available. Another question. I've got a weighted roller that I pull behind my tractor after planting and covering...

    Can someone splain me something?

He could be. My experience with grain sorghum is that the root system is extremely shallow. I've seen plants growing in sparsely-populated areas get blown over flat on the ground by the wind from a shower.

    Can someone splain me something?

Great input guys, thanks! Here's some detail of how/what I'm doing. A little about our weather here first. We have two seasons, a dry one (summer) and a wet one (winter). Winter normally starts in May and runs through the end of the year.....though the months of June, July, and August...

    Can someone splain me something?

Thanks guys for the responses. And as long as you're teaching me some stuff, please help me out with another question. I'm planting grain sorghum each year now because it does much better with the limited rainfall we've been receiving. It's also less costly for me to plant and maintain as I...

That makes sense. So, what's striptilled?

I saw this photo here and was wondering why one would go to the trouble. Thanks in advance for the education.

Another serious drought developing here again.

I was thinking of planting about 30 acres of corn to go along with the grain sorghum I'm going to plant this year. I've ruled the corn out now and am actually wondering how well the grain sorghum will do. Man, it's dry. It's still summer and our 'winter' should have started back in late May...
